I still think even he has something to offer though - was a different player in 2011-2012. This is the same back 4 that was fantastic before Steve Clarke left - so perhaps BR should be looking at coaching staff along with a big name CB to start running the show.
Nah, mate, you'll want someone with a track record of wheeling and dealing, happy to work for a season getting some loaners in and selling your talent to pay for his one-trick ponys. I reckon its a cert that wide boy Harry Redknapp will be your man - QPR now have a ridiculous wage bill and CHampionship football to pay for it, so he should be scouting around for the next team to screw up a la Southampton and Pompey... He fits your Bill to a tee...
He couldn't commute from Sandbanks to Goodison mate, so he's out. Rafa only lives on the Wirral, he's our man
Thought that was a good read actually and puts his performance in context in what has gone before. Quietly looking forward next year.
Having observed BR for a season I am still unsure what to make of him, but I have finally worked out something that really worries me as a fan, just wondering if any one else has similar feelings about this. Every time we have got into a position this season where we could challenge for the top four we have pretty much self exploded, same players, same formations so it must just be the mindset of the players, and that to me is concerning as some players just are not winners. I am concerned that we have a good team but one which just wont challenge as we seem to crumble under mental pressure or expectation
Wouldn't surprise me and I wouldn't hold it against him. I'm not totally convinced he would take such a backwards step at this stage in his career though. I see him going to someone more like Sunderland, Norwich or Stoke
YEs this has occured to me for sure. this is the mentality rodgers mentioned and what i heard was he wants to buy players to improve this, guys like suarez/kuyt in terms of ethic to turn up on every game day ready to give for the money....
Would Rafa agree to manager a smaller club like yours? I'm not so sure. Our former managers tend to draw their curtains when your lot play their footie...
