He has all the attributes but I question his commitment to being a top class footballer. He showed his strengths on Sunday and was a threat from the first second but he needs to replicate that over 30+ games in a season not a handful.

I don't hold much hope for the lad ever fulfilling his potential if he doesn't like training in abit of rain!

He needs to play in those 30 games a season first! I rate the lad and think he showed in his game and a half under Di Canio what a player he can be. He is a nightmare for defenders because he is big but he's also quick and has a good touch. Hope he starts against spurs

he must be kept, give him a proper seasons football , i think with a good manager he will fufill his potential, what pdc can do for a forward shurely must surpass what mo and walford could offer in movement and such like, hes big ,hes strong and he does know where the net is, i think the previous team sapped his confidence.
if sold the loss would be big on him, i would like him to be one of the five pdc talked about

Agree with Marcus on this. Get him out there regularly and we'll find out what we've got.

    This gamble has failed too.

See if Manure / Chelsea / anyone will have him.

Can you see even Fulham or Villa offering £5m (a loss of 3 to us) for him?

    Of course not.

    Waste of money, as per.

I rate the lad very highly and reckon we have got a real star on our hands, if we nurture him properly.

He is 20 now. If he is so good, then it's the rest of the team that are no good.

sell him to Barca / Inter / Blyth Spartans.

    No-one wants this class act.

I think he's got decent potential to be a good player, but no way is he a class act. He's 20 now so he's gona have to start showing what he can do!

His first touch still needs a lot if improving, not to mention his goal scoring. He didn't exactly bang many in at Sheffield Wed!

I gave up on him on Sunday.

First touch is woeful, aged 20.

Second touch is usually a head down run into a blind alley.

Doesn't use his size at all, never leans in, never bully's defenders.

I don't see him coming good, sadly.

To be fair the only one to blame regarding his slow development is Sunderland football club. It's the club who's failed not him.

Paolo has picked up on his issues straightaway. It's easy to promote the kids cause as many have done here, when you don't know the whole story.

He needs to knuckle down and prove himself. There have been too many U'21 "stars" that didn't fulfill. Connor needs to grasp that and work his nuts off!

Otherwise he's sold for a pittance and he loses his own credibility!

Anyone remember Sean Thornton? Supposedly a bright prospect, ruined by his love of nights out thinking he was Beckham. Young stars need to be told they are not there yet, they are not superstars and if they want the lifestyle of the Beckham's and Rooney's, they need to work hard for it. Bring back polishing the pros boots imo.
