Can we have a bit of reality please. Morison on 25k warnock 40k. Our entire squad would hardly be earning that. We can't and don't pay that sort of money. I doubt if we have anyone on much over 12k and its enough for them. About half a dozen worth their wages over the past season
As much as I agree mate, I heard Morrison was on 25k and if he is thats Warnocks biggest **** up probably ever with our wage structure so im inclined to believe he was a top earner but 25k sounds far too much. Then again, its GFH funding the contracts now and even they admit they know zip about football. My guess would be 16k as strikers generally get a bit more but then again he wouldnt have been on that at norwich. **** knows, I'm rambling now.
Hughes-less was just plain awful and that was Lge One!! Dead slow, couldn't pass, fcuk me was I glad to see him leave. I remember our two 3-0 losses to Swindon that convinced Grayson to sign Billy Bunter. At Swindon Hughes played left back, and Ward owned him, running past him as if Hughes was a statue, setting up two of the three goals. Grayson had a stroke of genius in the return at Elkand Road!! Put Hughes at right back ... Danny Wilson switches Ward to the other wing and we have the same outcome!! No thanks, for me Hughes was a total liability, and yes he did communicate with the fans etc, but he was just awful, yet Grayson kept playing him.
Agreed but I'm talking about Andy Hughes the man not the player with some would say limited ability. He's Leeds and he knows it. He's got the bug and seen many clubs in his career. I think he would be a good head to have around the youngsters to remind them what they have and what it means to be associated with this great club. I would love to see him working with the youth in some capacity because if everyone of our kids coming through had the drive and passion of Hughes mixed in with a bit of ability then we are onto a winner. Especially as now Mcdermott is working closely with the youth team as opposed to warnock who probably never saw a live game.
According to the Yorkshire Post ‘Sources in Swindon’ have suggested that Leeds are looking at 22 year-old Thompson as a possible replacement for Sam Byram. The defender’s current contract with Swindon expires at the end of June but Swindon have the option of extending this for another 12 months, and they have named the player on their retained list. The Wiltshire club are believed to value Thompson in excess of £500,000, which Leeds will only pay if a substantial offer for comes in for Byram.
I'll believe the inevitable Byram is going story when it appears on our website & we get hints of substantial offers from the likes of the Scum, Man Sh&tty, etc. Can't imagine us accepting anything less than around 8 to 10m. We may have failed to go up this season, but I really think BMD is just the guy to get us in the PL where we will really need Byram, Dawson, Lees etc. By the way and in answer to comments above, no way would we be paying Morrison anything like 25k. For that sort of money we could have kept Becchio, Snoddy, & just about anyone else.
