Yes, and where in the article does it say ANYTHING to contradict that? All it says is that we face a challenge from Aston Villa and he was bewildered by a supposed less lucrative second contract. At no point does it say he wont be signing an extension with us. It even says 'he is keen to stay'.
From what James Chester has said in the media the main issue has always been that he wants to play in the PL. His last interview with Burnsy confirmed that he expects no more issues and the little details left should be sorted out soon.
If we were still in the Championship, I think Chester may have gone but as it is, I think we'll secure him, he's key to our success.
