Screw Man City. Although i'm not a fan of his Mancini has been treated poorly with complete disrespect. First title in however many years and he's left fiddling his thumbs whilst not being told he is staying/going whilst the press constantly hound him. Modern football is bullshit at times.
Next season will be interesting, Rodgers settled for us and new managers for Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, and Everton.
Mancini is kinda **** as a manager. Any half brained tit could do well with unlimited money and that kind of squad. The fact that they were unable to do anything in Europe and failed to get close to retaining their striker (because of failing to buy RVP, lame excuse) is embarassing for a club with their resources. **** knows why they chant his name each game like he's some kind of modern football genius, a proper manager would achieve so much more with them. Anyway, hope FFP hits them hard and they get left with a **** manager to bring them back to earth. Could be big sam's chance.
As much as I agree that a club should stand by their manager, Mancini didn't make things easy for himself. What happened to last seasons offensive Man City? RM reverted to his defensive ways of 2011-12 season. With the money and players they have, they shouldn't be thirteen points behind! Man City won the league last season despite having Mancini as manager, not because of him!
They sacked him on the very day he won the league though lol: Did they get Shreeves to go round his door & tell him?
Its been one very bad season considering their ambitions though. With Chelsea in transition, Man Utd supposedly at their weakest for years and none of Spurs, Arsenal, Livepool etc able to cut the mustard, it was there for Man City to dominate. Thirteen points is a massive gap for the current champions to be behind by and to use the RvP signing as an excuse is shameful IMO
If he's getting 28 mill, I don't think he'll cry himself to sleep. And he entered the job under similar circumstances did he not? Doesn't make it any less classless of course.
Best manager, based on what? Offer stupid money for 20 mercenary, top quality players, pay them obscene wages to encourage them to go to a **** hole club and roll a dice to see who starts. Mancini was doing a job any manager could do. He just happened to do really bad this year. They got to where they were because of finances, not because of Mancini being a good manager.
I didn't say/mean best manager, but rather the best season they have had since they won last won the title. You might be right about him as a manager. I've merely pointed out that he has been treated like **** and he has been.
A FA cup final & 2nd place in the league isn't so bad. Obviously the going out at the group stage of CL wasn't ideal but lets not forget they got drawn against finalists Dortmund and semi finalists Real Madrid. Plus the Dutch league champions.
Manchester City sacked Roberto Mancini last night. How are the mighty falling?. The blue side of Manchester cannot get over the defeat by Wigan in FA cup.
think its more the expectation level with all the money they have to spend. personally surprised Mancini lasted as long as he did, don't rate him as a manager at all, and he is usually very negative in his tactics, even though he has some absolute class players in that side. be surprised if there was many City fans who are gutted by this news, although he did bring them success, or should that be buy them success, wonder how much it will cost City to buy the CL trophy lol
On City web site the article was 0741 am today. My article was written around 0400 am. I think it should be last in first out moderator?.
