Hey guys I'm pretty sure you've not seen this yet, it's an interview from a german press agency with Big Nick. Since there is no english version available I tried to translate it for you. I'm neither a translator nor is english my mother tongue, so please bear with me . Here's the original source from Südkurier: clickediclick I thought âThis cannot be trueâ, remembers Proschwitz, which scored five goals this season. The tigers from the north-east of England had to wait fifteen minutes in the dressing rooms for another game to finish - with a happy-end. Q: You have fulfilled your dream: Premier League. What are you most looking forward to? NP: Playing in the best league of the world, compete with some of the best players â this is crazy. Itâs unbelievable, if I just think about it, in what stadiums weâll be playing next season â Anfield Road, Old Trafford or all the clubs in London. And Iâm really looking forward to the other German players: Lukas Podolski, Sascha Riether and so on. Q: Have you already asked German PL-players like Podolski, Per Mertesacker, Lewis Holtby, Robert Huth or Gerhard Tremmel for tips? NP: No, Iâve not had any contact with Premier League players so far. I mean, Iâm not really living around the corner. It takes two-and-a-half hours to London by train. With our team, which is a great group, we are rather visiting Leeds or Manchester. Uwe Rösler offered me to meet and tell me a bit about his experiences, but unfortunately that has not happened yet. Q: What defines the club Hull City? NP: Hull City â the Tigers â this is our brand. I believe that the football tradition is just immense in England. So many clubs have a huge history and tradition. The whole city supports the club. When we play, Hull is going crazy. The people are really nice and positive. Thereâs a huge hype at the moment. But the pressure to go up was immense right from the start. We have a really good and expensive squad. Q: Keeper Gerhard Tremmel says, Swansea in Wales is better than its reputation. He adores his balcony with sea-view. How is it in Hull? NP: Hull is not known for being a very beautiful place. The city is indeed not the nicest. But Iâm living in a small suburb where there are quite nice houses. I have an apartment in an older villa, which is really nice and comfortable. And the sea is just 40 minutes away. Q: Do you have tickets for the Champions League final on the 25th of may at Wembley? NP: Yeah, even though itâs not a hundred percent sure. My assistant coach wanted to organise some tickets through the FA. Iâm hoping Bayern will win as Iâm a huge supporter! Hm. Yeah. Big Nick talked a bit of bullshit from time to time, but hey. And as a foreigner living in Hull I can tell you: Hull is waaaays nicer than its reputation
Well thank you, I'm glad you think so at least Also thanks for the translation, it all makes sense to me
Thanks Masterd good read, Hull's great, people put the City down but loads of culture and interesting stuff, a lot of the time where you least expect it too!
Good stuff, nice to hear from the big man. Where do you hail from Masterd? "The city is indeed not the nicest". Oi!
I thnk Bruce will give him a crack at the PL - afterall he paid good money and will want to see it justified. Bruce has already admitted Nick has a lot more to learn. He is a finisher though but I still think he needs to accpet the physicality.
Well he's right isnt he? Would anyone here say Hull is the 'nicest' city they have been to? Cos I wouldnt. He didnt say it was a festering ****hole, he said exactly what it is so please dont anyone make it into an issue. And thanks for the translation, this was a really good read and reasures me about him a bit. I'm glad he seems to like the group and goes out with them in Manchester and Leeds, he always cut a bit of a 'loner' figure.
The trouble is most of our own team only get to see anlaby road on their way to the ground which isn't the best of adverts for our city. I can imagine the away teams & fans think its rough! But it's our little corner of England and I wouldn't swap it for the world!
Thanks guys! I'm from Switzerland and currently studying at the Uni. Will unfortunatly leave pretty soon Ehm well... My translation may have not been perfect. Or I guess the meaning is a bit different in German. Saying "it's not the nices" in German actually means it's not nice, not that there are nicer cities... And no, Hull is not the nicest city I've been to. But by far not the worst...
Danke vielmals! No, i'm from the german part. The german speaking part is the biggest in Switzerland, followed by the french and italian.
People at work, ask me about Pro,and iv'e got to say i'm undecided. I didn't really see enough of him. Given a real run of games, would he have scored goals ? Were in the premier now,and i don't think Bruce will take the risk. We need to win ten games next season, and there won't be time to experiment.
I think you take things too seriously sometimes BCC. Relax. It was playful "oi", I'm always giving them out. Please don't make an issue out of something I didn't intend to make an issue of because you have an issue with taking none serious issues too seriously. You have issues.
Well, if I would need to choose a Bundesliga team it would be Borussia Mönchengladbach. I'm more happy with my swiss second-tier club though and do not really care about the Bundesliga
I'd always prefer BVB over Bayern though . Bayern must be one of the most unsympathetic club on earth...
What you think of FC Basel? Done a lot for Swiss football recently. You're national teams coming on strong and all.
