Just thought there have been a lot of threads about Pardew, relegation etc so thought I'd get a debate going about who everyone thinks we should offload in the summer and what people estimate our transfer budget to be...

    I'd sell the following:

    Gosling (500k-1 million)
    Simpson (released)
    Williamson (1-2 million)
    Shola (released - 500K)
    Obertan (1-2 million)
    Sammy (1-2 million)
    Amalfitano (released)
    Jonas (2-3 million)
    Vuckic (1-2 million)

So that would raise say 7-12 million.

I reckon we may get somewhere in the region of 20-25 million from Ashley to spend. I know that sounds a lot but I genuinely think that due to our struggles this year and the extra tv money that we'll actually spend a bit extra.

We know we need two strikers, one of them for me should be Remy. Yes he did reject us, but are you going to get a striker with his pedigree for 8 million anywhere else??? Almost definitely not in my opinion. He represents great value for money. As for the other striker I'd bring back Carroll and would bid up to 12 million to do so. He's local, he cares and would offer something different that Remy & Cisse wouldn't. He's also a leader and gives nothing less than 100% in every game.

We need another CB, especially if Colo leaves. I know club policy is to sign young but we do need experience and a bit of Premier League "know how" in our first 11, so I'd try and enquire about Lescott. He's around 29/30 but not playing, could we get him for 6-8 million??? Possibly. His main attribute is his ability in both boxes which we clearly lack at the moment, he can also play LB if needed.

With Jonas going I'd maybe take a look at Sinclair and offer City the chance to recoup the 5 million they paid for him, he's quick and we lack pace. He can play off the striker or on either wing.

We'd then have a pool of defenders consisting of: Debuchy, R Taylor/Tav, Santon, Haidara, S Taylor, MYM, Lescott and hopefully Colo. If not then I'd keep Williamson.

Our midfielders would include: Cabaye, Tiote, Anita, Bigi, Sissoko, Marveaux, HBA, Gouffran, Sinclair

Leaving a strike force of Cisse, Remy, Carroll & Campbell.

Again this is a massively hypothetical thread so let me know if you agree/disagree etc. Just thought I'd try and steer away from all the Pardew in/out stuff that's been floating around lately.

For me our squad just needs tweaking and not a major rebuild.

Surely you have to add on their wages to the amount you save/raise
as that is what Ashley & Co. say when we go out and buy someone

I always understood it as the wages have to be in relation to revenue and not at a set figure. So say like wages shouldn't exceed 65% of revenue or something. I'm taking the extra TV money to help cover this along with Shola (25k per week) Obertan (15k per week), Simpson (10k per week), Gosling (15k per week), Jonas (40k per week) and Williamson (15-20k per week) all off the wage bill. Obviously they're only estimates etc.

I'd sell all those mentioned and I think we'll lose Colo although I'd do anything to keep him. Literally anything :emoticon-0105-wink: Just say the word Fabricio I'll sort it with the missus.

I'd go Remy/PEA, Carroll, McManaman, McCarthy, Simon Kjaer, M'Bengue, Simon Moore, Lewis Dunk (or someone of that ilk to replace Willo).

Carroll, Kjaer and McCarthy to provide some leadership qualities sadly lacking. Maybe could do with someone more experienced than McCarthy but I was struggling to think of any. And of course the popular McManaman..........

So just the 8 in then <laugh><laugh>

Ryan Taylor's out for the season and I don't think I'd be too confident with Tav as the back up for RB.
I'd like to see us get 2 CB's in if Colo goes and a first team LB, then Santon can be moved over to RB.
Gosling won't cost much wage wise or bring in a great deal in fee's so I'd look to loan him for half a season then take it from there.
Vuckic, I'd probably give the lad another season. Think this was going to be his year until the injury ruled him out.
As for the others they can all go for me.
We need more creativity and more goal scorers but most importantly we need some leaders.

that's a good list but who to bring in is the real question, Remy gets mentioned but he didn't want to come 6 months ago so I could see him becoming one of these half-arsed players newcastle have had so many of down the years.

Agree with the 'move on' list and the 'incoming' list. Only thing I'd say is I'd prefer us to go all out for Aubameyang with Remy as the backup option. We've also been linked recently with Andreas Wiemann who would be a decent signing from what I have seen of him.

I don't think I'd be rid of Jonas. For a backup option in a number of areas he could be useful - he's just not the winger he was. Sammy's been canny at Boro, i'd loan him out another half year along with Vuckic and Ferguson. It really is about time we were shot of Ameobi, though that would mean an absolute minimum of 2 strikers in. Obertan's utter gash, Gosling slightly worse and Amalfitano simply disappeared. Willo's also not good enough, but getting rid is only an option if Colo stays. Simpson gone anyway, but would either Santon or MYM do a job there? Certainly Anita probably could.

One I'd throw in - sell Tiote. He's been utter crap yet could still command a stack of cash. Perch has been slightly better and I still think Sissoko should be in that position. Not only is he a beast, he can carry the ball too. MYM has shown ability and could do something at DM, Perch is an out and out destroyer there too and with Anita/Bigi we have too many in the centre, so I'd grab some Tiote cash.

Players I'd want, in priority order:
    1. Carroll or Benteke
    2. Douglas or N'Koulou or Sakho
    3. Remy or PEA
    4. M'Bengue or Abdennour
    5. Townsend or McManaman or Sinclair
    6. Wanyama or Imbula

And I completely agree with you, even about Rose.

Rose will be a non starter as he will start first choice at Spurs unless they have a superstar targeted. Even then if the mackems stop up as likely, he'd head there first. He'd be my first choice though if it were an option. Him Carroll, McManaman, McCarthy would be some nice home nation talent to have on the books. Sakho would be lovely, as would Zouma, but neither realistic I would think.
