Repetitive. That's what kills you Dragon. If you popped in made a comment and left, all well and good. But you are the worst and repeating something ten times in ten different threads.

    Long summer indeed :)

I hope Sam just takes the cash. He does seem very keen to hang around. I think he still thinks he is loved by the majority.
When is the next meeting meant to be with Sam?

Thanks for getting the thread back on track Siam. <ok>

Sam certainly believes the fawning over him by his diminishing band of sycophants is representative of a much larger following than he actually has. The fact that they've been the most vocal faction tends to mask the real truth.

I think things are coming to a head and Vince will be keen to sort this out very quickly - but only on his terms.

Malky's job in the melting pot may be a distraction at the moment, but I wouldn't want Hamman around interfering with the acquisition of new players whoever manages the club next season.

As my old teacher used to say " empty vessels make the most noise" and that's the case with Sams followers, they are few but very vocal and have little sense of anything but themselves.
They yearn for the days when they were the big cheeses at Ninian, Sam suffers the same self importance due to those few fans.
Sam done a job for us, then nearly done a job on us. He is the past, leave him there please.

The total debt allegedly owed to Sam, including the renaming money were included in last years accounts.
The naming money was and is not any part of the club debt.
Anything we pay Sam lass than that allowed by last years accounts is also a in the debt. The accounts were loaded with bed debt which the 2011-2012 account have effectively written off.
Therefore the naming rights ( 9 million) will come off the accounts, one way or the other, and any lesser payment to Sam will also come of the accounts,
Therefore the 2011-2012 accounts will be adjusted in favour of the club.
So without doing anything much the accounts can be reduced by about 14 million. If we pay Sam even less and give him a token share then by more.
As long as he has nothing to do with contracts for players or is allowed near the stadium, secially the pitch, I don't give a toss.
    And no "Protection" ****e.

For me, I have no problem if he converts his debt to equity. He will be a shareholder, for sure, but his shareholding will be relatively small compared to VT's (say 20 million compared with 70 million plus what is already in the share structure) so he should not be able to do much in the way of stirring. And the advantage would be that no money would have to be given to him. He could also have a place on the Board on the basis that if he misbehaves he can soon be voted off and his powers can be limited.
As for the re-naming money, he can have that as shareholding as well. I doubt he would like to be above the 30% associate company level anyway and VT can probably offer him much less and dilute him down to where he cannot cause problems. After that, all he can do is sell his shares to someone else.....but with no financial effect on the club.
I seem to recall someone mentioning some sort of figurehead role....again fine by me. Just so long as he is kept away from day-to-day running and financial matters. However, I am pretty sure VT has that sewn up and will never give that control away.

Will you lot stop referring to the debt Hamman. It's the Langston loan notes that we're talking about - nothing to do with Sam!

For Hamman to advise Langston to convert the debt into equity wouldn't be easy. It would involve numerous and lenghty discussions between him and the risk assessors in Switzerland. They would probably demand a full due dilligence exercise into VT's dealings at the club this past 2 years.

I doubt Sam has very much say in it himself and will only take instructions.

    Toooooo subtle Sparkey.

Anyway, I thought Sam would need to head west not east. Aren't Langstons in the Bahamas? I'd have thought that after his visit to CCS and chat to Vince he'd have been straight on the plane to discuss it with his pay masters. I mean, what benefit are they getting from Sam if he's not doing his bit as a go between? How can they cope with not being kept in the loop?

Not quite correct remote, but heading in the right direction.

Langston is a Panamanian company with corporate British Virgin Islands directors and offices in Switzerland. It's fronted by a Swiss gentleman Herr Phillipe Tischhauser who conducted the negotiations over the issue of the loan notes, and was responsible for the due dilligence exercise on behalf of Langston.

    Hamman is a mere pawn.
