Erm....where does it say Leeds fans were criticizing a Leeds/Man.U./(or even Leicester) fan? Theye were talking about a player.

    Surely?

No, Leeds fans looking forward to seeing the players of the club they love disappointed by the attitude of a player they previously liked and had respect for.

Anyway that was a few years ago, people change so I accept he may have grown up since.

We get a lot of away teams at work and for the most part they're always tossers (Peterborough where a nice bunch).
We also get a fair amount of Hull City players come through and they're always really nice. Wonder why? I have no doubt we have our fair share of dick heads, but they'll never act like that to their own fans in their own city.

Shock horror, Kasper Schmeichel is a massive United fan.

The Leeds fans have never liked Schmeichel and i'm fairly sure he didn't like them.

Can't imagine i'd like the people who sung "Your dads a ****, but you're alright" each week.

Stop being prejudice, I know for a fact that my 2 friends I'm talking about didn't dislike him at the time, regardless of what the majority thought.

AKCJ what makes you think he is popular and liked in the changing room?
Is it just what you would like to believe?
I know a couple of players at Leicester I have no reason to make up stories about your keeper?

That's naive. If he plays well in the EPL he will stay in the EPL whether it's with us or another club.
Players reputations aren't dictated by the fate of their clubs if their personal performances are of a high standard.

I too know a few Leicester players.

I can tell by the way they speak/act around each other.

They photos and banter they share on twitter.

There is absolutely nothing that suggests the players don't like him. Stop spurting ****e for the fun of it <ok>

    Its not naive.

Like I said, he's a very grounded person. He wants success but he also wants stability. Why would he want to go somewhere for one season?

Ok fair enough I'm particularly bothered if you believe it or not.
Next time you see someone from the club ask the question?

Sorry, but you are being naive. Ambitious footballers accept constant upheaval as part-and-parcel of the job. Only those who are approaching the end of their careers or don't have confidence in their own abilities seek the security of a long-term contract at established clubs.
I would imagine someone like Schmeichel will expect to be employed by several more clubs before he reaches a level where he's happy to settle.

    You're being naive.

"Ambitious footballers". I'd like to think every footballer is. :emoticon-0112-wonde

He's an individual who has surrounded himself with the right people (mainly due to his father) and wants whats best for his career.

Going somewhere to relocate his family, not for what is likely to be one year, it's not be in his interests. He doesn't need money. He's driven by success and having a relegation season isn't in his best interests.

I'd be absolutely amazed if he went to a club like Hull, Cardiff or Wigan (if they stay up). They're not big clubs and they're not guaranteed Premier League football each season.

He's 26 and has a family now. He's not far off his "peak" and will want to be playing season in season out, week in week out at an established Premier League club.

I can't see him leaving what he has at Leicester (stability and a good wage) for what is likely to be a one off season.

So which Premier League team is going to bid for him? Not one of the top 6 or 7 clubs - as they wouldn't guarantee him first team football every week. You are then looking at the likes of Fulham, Newcastle, West Brom + Norwich (the last 2 not guaranteed to avoid relegation IMO - and why would such teams change their current keepers?

Kasper will probably only listen to his dad....even if we put an offer in if Peter says 'wait for a better offer' then it won't happen....but Peter might like us and Brucey.

The fact you say he is driven by success, yet doesn't want to play in the premier league. No matter how many years we stay in the premier league, he has a better chance of securing a move to a bigger club by playing in the premier league with us, than in the championship with us. The fact is, he will have more publicity and exposure with us, than with you.
