We haven't had a Pearson thread for months, he barely gets a mention nowadays and you can't possibly think that we're not going to have a laugh at his expense today.

He turned this club around when it was a mess, and got it winning again.

Hobbs, Brady, Chester, Fryatt, Rosenior etc- the foundation of our promotion-winning team was built by NP.

It's pathetic to assess him and his time purely on some kind of egocentric adolescent fan whim in which his interview persona is deemed the most important factor in his time here.

Brilliant post. And don't just rate him on the players he brought in but also the ones he got out. Expensive ****house types who were millstones around our neck. I genuinely heard fans say when Pearson was here that "we should get Brownie back, at least he's entertaining in interviews".

    ****ing unbelievable.

And of course, he's the only City manager to have won at Bramall Lane in the last 42 years <laugh>

    Not often you mention me.

Of course I wanted Brownie back, greatest manager we've ever had. Only at this club could you be vilified for appreciating success.

Pearson did nothing for us, I can't believe people still buy into the "downward spiral" myth.

Sorry for the Lesta fans that they didn't make it, but I think is does highlight Nigel is a good manager but not good enough when it comes to stepping up a level. He did a great job for us, and at the level we were at the time he was the right man for the job. Now we have moved on, stepped up a few levels, which would not have happened under Nigel. He is an average Championship manager, but doubt he can step up to the next level.

Apart from bringing in half the team that just got us promoted, obviously.

Phil Brown got City up for the first time in 104 years and deserves full praise for that. Then he O.D'd on 'fame' and also lost his nerve.

Nigel Pearson brought in the backbone of our just (re-)promoted club.

Oh - and I mention you as you never let the NP hatred drop; same as you always have a Brown nose and a 'love' of Duffen and the ginger wastrel.

P.S. Why are you surprised at being mentioned? You are, after all, a recognised attention-seeker.

I suppose it's just proof, if any were needed, that this football management lark isn't straightforward. Only a few of them have all of the attributes required to be successful.

Some of them are great man managers but not great tactically, others are the opposite. Undoubtedly, luck also plays a big part, which includes the set up they inherit when they take over.

For me, I feel pretty ambivalent towards Pearson, on a positive note he brought in some very good players who have provided the backbone of this latest promotion winning squad. However, some of the football under him was dire to watch, there were times that if I hadn't have had a season ticket, I'd have really struggled to raise enough enthusiasm to go to games. It was that bad, and before anyone jumps on that comment, I've been going for 44 years and have like most others of a similar vintage, gone through some pretty torrid times. I think what made it feel so bad was that you could see we had some good players but the tactics were so negative that it was just massively frustrating. Whereas, when we didn't have very good players, you didn't have much in the way of expectation.

His attitude in interviews certainly didn't endear him to many and the manner of his departure didn't help either but at the end of the day, he's part of our history now, although hopefully some of his signings will go on to be part of a very exciting future!

Don't actually give a stuff about Pearson. Quite like most of the Foxes fans. But AKCJ has been coming on here for a year trying to be a wum. The way I see it, if he gets a bit of flack now he's earned it.

Still quite like him, but enjoy having the banter with him. After all, he comes here for it, I don't go there looking for him.

So glad Watford won, it gives me some ammunition.

    As someone said earlier, schadenfreude.

Only two of pearsons signings played against Cardiff. Of the top 9 in Goochies player of the season there was only Chester. Im not counting Simmo as pearson **** all over him and Mcshane.
    Quinn 36, 766
    Faye 28, 658
    Chester 28, 650
    Brady 27, 674
    McShane 26, 492
    Aluko 23, 488
    Elmohammady 20, 525
    Simpson 14, 372
    Boyd 14, 343

He was allowed to bring in a hell of a lot of players some were good others were ****e. Christ Carmine knows **** all about football but he knew to look at Man U reserves and ask for some of them (Tunic life). Its hardly rocket science is it.
