Ironic, given the other comments about Allam and especially the homophobia and sexism. Wendyball and puffball for example.

They used to call Adam Pearson Sadam, before he bought them, so maybe all Dr Allam needs to do to improve his image is buy FC. <laugh>

They were all banging on calling us glory hunters after last week.

    Love the irony.

I've kept a eye on that 48 page thread on the RL Fans site and there such a sensitive bunch for fans supposedly follow the toughest sport in the world.

I don't know why, but they have such a infeory conplexation against City. I don't know if It's a West Hull thing or a fact we share a stadium.

I support Hull F.C and Hull City.

I love rugby, played for east hull for 8 years and represented yorkshire service area..

My friend took me to a Hull City game 9 years ago and I have followed them ever since. It kind of upsets me that sporting fans have petty little arguments over who is bigger/more attractive sport in this city.

The truth to the matter is that we support our clubs and we want the best for our clubs in this city. An example is Hull KR. I'm not a bitter person, I would rather see Hull F.C and Hull K.R along with Hull City to do well.

WE are Hull after-all and the most success we can get as a city is beneficial to all of us.

Of course rugby is not as popular in general, but in Hull it is.

From juniors playing in the mini leagues to conference sides and division one sides right through to the superleague.

Hull FC and Hull KR has their glory days and periods of success, and it's had it's hardest times which is now. Hull City have had it's hardest times/period (getting locked out of boothferry) brink of administration countless times but we have also had our times of success, this is our second promotion and I for one cannot wait for the first game of the season.

    UP the tigers!

That really annoys me as well. Whenever I ever talk about my love of football to a rugby fan they ALWAYS without exception say "but at least rugby players are hard". They never once ever talk about the beauty of the game, the simplicity being it's genius, the joy of competition or a world beating try they once saw that made their spine tingle., it's how tough the players are. Well if you want to watch a tough sport why don't you and go and watch UFC? I'm pretty sure that's much ****ing tougher than chasing an egg around a field.

What you don't mention is that more than a few RL fans in this city actively support our rivals, want us to fail and have a vested interest in us not fulfilling our potential.

    No it isn't.
How many amateur rugby players are there in the city compared to football players?
When was the last time you saw a pub crowded to watch Super League matches NOT involving either Hull side?
Were the pubs full for rugby league world cup matches?

    Don't listen to the dicheads.

Anyone residing in Hull that want's one of their top teams to fail miserably needs a bang on the head or driving to grimsby.

All clubs have a few numpties. It's obvious they are scared of a club being ambitious and being the highlight of sport in our city, their main concern is the stadium.

Squeaky bums because they are worried about loosing their home.

You have clearly not played rugby league then at a competitive level.

I played football for a few games back at high school "central midfielder but a prop/second row in rugby" scored a hatrick from halfway on three occasions I just hit the ****er like a rugby ball haha "bring's back memories".

I love rugby, i love football but superleague/modern day rugby has it all, it's much faster, more physical and certainly more skilful. Rugby really does separate the men from boys.

    Challenge cup final
Old trafford (superleague grand final) both attract attendances of 60-80,000

Most rugby supporters actually go to the games, of course like any sport you have you're usual armchair supporters. Apart from Hull city's last 2 promotions which has being their only success in a long history both Hull KR and Hull F.C have won more honours/trophies.

We could argue all day long and it would be pointless.

The fact of the matter is I support both clubs through thick and thin, don't go spouting off about the Hull F.C supporters because most of you on here are just as bad "hence why we are having this conversation on here".

    Hmmm. Noy 'our' then.

Trophies in rl don't begin to compare to football trophies. There's only about 8 viable RL teams. If anything, given the number and size of the opposition, FC's trophy haul is pitiful.

I agree RL is possibly the most demanding team sport played in this country in terms of strength and stamina, and that many footballers could not handle it.

    But that's irrelevant.

We're talking about the deluded and bitter mindset of some local RL fans, and the harm it can do to our prospects.

But when you have the rugby equivalent of Manchester united, Chelsea and Man city in your league it's hard going.

Warrington for example fiddle the salary cap, they are even paying half their wages to their wifes/partners and saying they "clean for the club or help out at the club". Dodgy to the bone but it's what you're up against.

You cannot compare winning competitions in a sport to another, to fans of that sport it means everything.

Just think, you're very passionate about your football club and want to see them succeed, well there's thousands of Hull F.C and Hull K.R supporters that feel the same way about their teams. Why don't you just let it be? There's clearly no end of the argument on this matter so just let it be..

Bollocks. There is no Man U equivalent in RL ffs. You're doing what the other bloke was doing, and what I've suggested is unhelpful in that you're trying to cock wave.

As I keep saying, if you like RL, enjoy it for what it is. You can't compare it to football and trying to just holds both back because it gets bogged down in petty ****e.

We need to be looking at the common ground. Step one is to accept they're different, incomparable sports.

Widnes, Wakefield, "Classy" Cas, Saint Helens, Featherstone rovers etc...

They are not the teams they use to be. Since superleague came on the scene, tv right's and bigger clubs became established.

The catchment area for Castleford, Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Featherstone etc is unbelievable. These clubs are a stone throw away from each other. I know people in Bradford that support Leeds Rhinos for example.

    Wigan, Leeds Rhinos, Saint Helens.

If there such "incomparable" sports why don't you jump off the ****ing bandwagon and sit down.

    Talk about contradicting yourself lmao.
