No we don't. Wigan's last game is against Villa. If Wigan win both games they will go above us but Villa can't get above us as they will have been beaten by Wigan. If Villa win and Wigan have beaten Arsenal Wigan will only have 38 points. The only way we can go down is if we have a 10 goal swing in our goal difference with Villa.

Unless we commit suicide and loose with 5-6 against Swansea we are safe. (Don't think we have a chance coming out from there with anything.)

Today's game was partially decided by two poor referee decisions. A penalty which we have seen given more times than not and a foul on Kaca with a potential red card...

Liverpool were too good and they played well, they deserve their win.

Massive rebuild in the summer across the team...

    Come on Fulham

This game can be partially explained as follows: Emanuelson is not a left back.

We looked good coming forward but were continuously hit with balls over the top into the left back area, where Emanuelson was absent or caught out. It was a tactical gamble to bring Emanuelson on instead of Riise when Richardson was injured. It backfired.

Most obvious penalty I've seen in a long, long time. Very poor decision from the officials, but we should not have let our concentration slip and conceded the second.

Actually, to go down we'd need to lose by 10 goals plus however many goals Wigan would have to beat Villa by, having also beaten Arsenal and Sunderland get a point at Spurs.

Madness - Your summary is pretty close to the posting I was about to make. I enjoyed our goal as being very well worked and at least we were on the front foot for a fair bit of the time, although it was a pity to get caught napping for the Liverpool second goal. Richardson going off was also a key point in the first half (in the second half it would have given Jol the option of moving him into midfield when Riise came on for Kara). Apart from that, there were elements of same old problem of central midfield - an exposed defence when out attack breaks down. As said, MJ has some work to do.

Still Liverpool deserved their win, and it could have been worse had it not been for some hard work/desparate defending variously by our back-5. However, how their ridiculous supporters were allowed to let off flares and fireworks was a joke.

I was talking to an first aider after and it seems the flares caused a few asthma attack in some of their own supporters.
Again they were over crowded in certain areas of the Putney End, I guess they'll never learn till it's too late again, but our stewards should
be better prepared for things like this, as it is not the first time they've done it.

Guess we rubbed Sturridge up the wrong way. (you're just a **** Danny Welbeck)

Thank goodness It's Halseys last season we won't have to put up with his melodramatics again.
It was once said on radio that Halsey is a QPR fan by another Ref who was talking about Refs
are not allowed to Ref the teams they support..
So let's hope he is given an honorary season ticket for them, so he can be made to suffer the
way he has made us suffer.

Apologies guys, I didn't do the math. But I'm still disappointed with our finish. I thought we were done scrapping past relegation. I still have faith in big mart though! Top half next season, COYW.

Agree with that. It was frustrating though that the only urgency and passion that we saw from the team was in the 5 minutes following that penalty decision. To be honest I felt as flat as the player's looked when they did the after game walk -

Since I've made comments recently about tactics, I think it's worth noting the rather strange one in the second half when Jol put Kaca through the centre with Berba on his left and Bryan on his right. We had our best spell !!

Is this a new role for Kaca - I recall someone making this suggestion before (can't remember who or when and it may even have been last season) ??

Following on from that, I'm at a loss as to why Jol then substituted Kaca (forgive me if I decline to comment on Petric). Indeed it was a day of weird substitutions all round (again).

I didn't stay for the 'Lap of Appreciation' I wasn't really in the mood but looking at the numbers in that video clip there are embarrassingly few fans remaining and I feel a bit guilty now. The majority of the players from that clip hardly looked at the crowd. I suppose to be fair they weren't in the mood for it either.

Anyway Fulham now definitely here next year so we can do it all again - Great news ! and sadly we lose FA Cup Winners, Wigan.

I wasn't too impressed by the lap, but given the result and the rain (and those annoying Liverpool subs who kept running in front of the home end) I guess it was close to the definition of a damp squib!
