So when the dust settles and your owners reflect on the season you have had do you think Nigel will get the sack? If so, who do you think is out there that is better and will replace him?
I think he will get the boot, although i wouldn't mind if they stuck with him, theres not very much better available out there...
I think I've made my feelings on this very clear. An extraordinarily narrow play-off defeat certainly won't change my mind.
Only if he brings the Man City rejects My personal opinion is that we keep Pearson unless MON gets interested, but cant see it. Hes built up a good team here that fell away after a superb start, he'll haveto get back to winning ways pretty quickly imo next season. Pearson IN
We were stupid and let him go last time we got into the playoffs. I don't think you should sack a manager who was a game away from Wembley. He's been through too much with the players now, and watching his post-match interview makes me remember what a steady bloke he is. I hope someone's taking care of Knockaert- if Kermorgant had been that distraught after his penalty I don't think we would have minded.
I think Pearson will be safe personally, i do think he's under achieved this season with the squad you have, fair enough you got into the play-offs but finished well below the top 2. Give him another season, see if he can improve on this one.
Said before its been a season of two halves, but he will haveto hit the ground running at the start of next year, i can imagine the minute hes out of the top 6, he'll be sacked.
Really? All the teams in the play-offs have great squads. Ours is actually quite small and past the first team there's no much there. I think Hull have over-achieved; take them out and the rest of the top six all have very good squads. The gap between us and seventh maybe should have been wider (or put another way, we should have made the play-offs more comfortably) but by hook or by crook we've finished where we should have - top six.
Yeah probably so Wizard, your owners might as well give him the summer to bring in some players, it won't cost them a kings ransom as Pearson doesn't spend the big bucks, but like you say if your not top 6 after so many games then think about replacing him. Like i said in my last post i think your squad is very good so bringing in the right players doesn't seem to be the problem.
Pearsons had 1 summer and 2 January transfer windows, and the squad is better than what Sven left us with imo. I think he'll get a 2nd summer to bring in a few and then the owners will let the chips fall where they may ....
Yeah i agree Gangsta, we have probably over achieved this season which makes my point more valid really, we've over achieved yet finished comfortably above Leicester even though they've taken 4 points off us this season. You have arguably the best keeper in the league, one of the best defenders in Morgan, one of the best midfielders in Knockaert and two of the best forwards, Wood and Nugent.
I think your're doing yourselves an injustice. Watford are a fantastic side and you finished above them too. And Palace. And Brighton. That's not down to just us under-achieving, but your manager taking an average squad and making them something more than they should be. That's what O'Neill did for us for eight years. Sometimes things just click and you get lucky. Most of the time, like Cardiff and probably like us, you have to do it the hard way with years of building. Other times it just drops into your lap.
I'm pretty sure sacking him AND replacing him with Iain Dowie would be the worst thing you could do right now.
Oddschanger ‏@Oddschanger Time up for Nigel Pearson at #LCFC? Martin O'Neill & Neil Lennon are the 6/1 joint favs @BetVictor to replace him - (http://bit.ly/BetVictor25Free )
