We would be safe. Wigan would have to win both their remaining games to go above us, which would mean we would be above Villa on GD. Sunderland might sweat a bit though!
I still reckon I was right: it'll be down to goal difference on the last day but we'll sttay up. If we don't sttay up, we'll stay up. How come we got so bigheaded in the last few weeks?
So if we don't sttay up, we'll stay up? That's good because all season I've wanted to stay up, but never sttay up.
With the injuries and suspensions Sunderland have we should be good for a point which is enough, coupled with the way Di Canio gets them fired up there will be a good chance that one of their players will get sent off again as well. Its the old feeling of dred which gets the gut churning, as we are so close we just think we wil blow it. Had the same feeling against Coventry last season. If this match pans out like that one I would be pretty happy!
I'm sure you will stay up regardless of you getting beat today..It's a lovely sunny day in Sunderland at the moment, but the forecast is for rain by kick off time..I'm looking forward to sharing a few pre/post match beers with those of you travelling up!
Really nervous about today, really dont have an idea how itll turn out. Heres hoping for a nice big saints win
I'm the complete opposite. There's not a single part of me that is nervous. Thanks to yesterday's result, we now know exactly where the safety line lies. Putting a ridiculous turn around of GD, we need one more point to be certain of safety. On top of that, Sunderland have their top three goalscorers unavailable, hardly score or concede a goal at home, and I'm sure would be glad of a point themselves (albeit wins for Norwich and Newcastle today, and Wigan in midweek, would mean that a draw today keeps them in deep trouble). I'm hopeful of a win, but I can absolutely see a boring, dour draw.
Me too -worked up a thirst with a run along sunny South Shields sea front. I think Saints will edge it - our conversion rate for chances is pretty poor, but today I think we`ll make the most of them.
I'm mildly confident. Given all the players Sunderland are missing I think we can expect to get something. Surely we can play better than Stoke did last week.
Hopefully we can grind out a draw. I'd definitely take it considering our form. I have read Yoshida and Schneiderlin have late fitness tests today.
I was hoping to sign up for www.premieradlive.com just for today's match but it doesn't seem to give me that option? Are there any other websites offering a hd quality streaming for the match today? Dont mind paying a small fee
To offset that I'm feeling great! My brother and I took part in our first duathlon today and we came 1st out of all the teams that took part COYS, draw will do today but a win to get over the line before the final day is fine too
Be wary of the wounded beast. Everything points to us winning with their injuries and suspensions and the way we have been playing (WBA excluded), but they really will look at this game as their chance for survival. They won't want to go into Spurs away needing to get something. I think if we weather the early storm (cliche 1), then we will go on and win it.
Spoke to Yoshida after the Spurs game and he said he could have played comfortably so I imagine if he doesn't play it won't be because of lack of fitness. Thought Fonte was excellent against Spurs though...
