If we stay up, it won't be because we fought for it, it will be because others have let us off, because we have definitely been one of the worst 3 teams this season. If we do stay up, who would you love to see in? Keep it realistic. RVWW is already coming, who would you like us to make big attempts to join him? Doesn't necessary mean we get all of the names you mention, just a selection of who you think we need. For me: Nathan Redmond - Birmingham: Pace (we lack), youth, potential, skill (we lack), linked with many of the big boys, similar to Zaha. Curtis Davies - Birmingham: A bit of pace for a CB (we lack), solid, we need more defensive options. Kone - Wigan: If we stay up Wigan will go down, if so, I would love to see us try and get this guy, he looks a gem. We need more strike power. James Mcarthy - Wigan: Again, linked with the big boys, but if Wigan go down worth a punt. Scott Sinclair (loan or permanent) - Man City: Told he can leave, skill and pace to spare (we lack) Great set piece taker (we lack) and knows where the goal is (we lack) Kyle Naughton (loan or permanent) - Spurs: was great on loan, doesn't seem first choice for them, we need a left-back. Gary Hooper : Celtic - We are very interested in him, he gets goals, I fancy Lennon for Everton, and if he goes he'll probably try and take Hooper and Wangyama, but if not, worth another go with the increased TV rev. Kolo Toure : Man City - They are getting rid of him, still got class, sure he would be a Bassong type player, wages would probably be the problem, but if we have the clear out i'm expecting, that will free up some wages. They are all I can think of at the moment. Interested in your shouts, or rumors you have heard that you fancy. Neil.
Dont really think Kone is that good. When he plays directly he looks dangerous, but he is very one footed and cuts back on to his right far too much. I feel there are many better out there. Well the players we look for very much depend on how we wish to play next year. Presumably a change of style will be implemented. Very much agree we require more pace. But not just a "he can run fast" sort of player. It is the ability to change pace and acceleration that is more effective and move the ball quicker.
Although that's where the vast majority of our goals (relatively speaking) have come from this season.
I believe you've just been a victim of a rare, quintuple post. Although an octuple post I believe is the current record! Back on topic, we've got all summer to debate this, so I don't really fancy counting my chickens! A win against WBA and then I'll start to give it proper thought. I've also got an idea for a forum game related to this which I might start once we know which league we'll be in.
I would be perfectly happy with: Curtis Davies Kyle Naughton Liam Bridcutt Scott Sinclair +3 Marquee Signings The four listed wouldn't cost an arm and a leg (£3m, £4m, £3.5m, £6m), well within our transfer budget, but would be big improvements on what we have...think as better versions of Barnett, Tierney, E.Bennett and Tettey
I would like to see us go for Fletcher from Sunderland, as he could be an ideal replacement in the future for Grant Holt. Also, would be good teaming him up with Wolfwinkel.
Fletcher cost them a lot too much personally. Yes they would be nowhere without his goals. But i wouldn't pay more then 6m/7m

Snoddys really hit and miss, sometimes the majority of the corners don't beat the first man. when he's having a mare, we need another option.
there will, in all likely-hood, be at least three players, probably from abroad, that not one person will have mentioned on here. names mentioned so far are, mostly, unrealistic. If Brighton are promoted, Bridcutt is likely to stay with them. Sinclair will go to a "bigger" club than us. Naughton will be too expensive for what we are getting. Fletcher, ditto. Toure? you're having a laugh. Kone and Davis are the only possibles as far as i can see.
Davies-£4m Naughton-£4m? Biglia-£8m Wanyama/Bridcutt-£5m? Redmond-£4m Maloney/Mcmanaman-£4/8m Van Ginkel-£5m Hooper-£5m This haul would suit me just fine if we could afford the £40m for them... We might be able to if we sold the deadwood and if we survive. However the likelihood of us spending that money is slim to fk all so id be happy with half those players, preferably: Naughton Biglia V Ginkel Redmond Hooper =25m?
