I bet the authorities are glad that was discovered before the kickoff so they don't have to deal with it. Would have been like the Tevez situation all over again.

The 'winner' didn't really matter. The draw was enough.

 

I think Watford's lot would have been less happy than us. They couldn't award Watford the points after the event as we'd counter it with a legal claim which would delay the playoffs and then next season as well, so it would all have been financial claims between Watford, the authorities and Leeds, and maybe points deducted for Leeds (at minimum the 3 they got from the game the player was involved in).

 

Could they have awarded Watford the 3rd promotion place as the only solution to a right horlicks - granted none of the other play-off teams would have been happy

no chance. more legal challenges from the teams in 4th-6th. the rules were set at the start of the season for play-offs. can't start changing them on the fly.

 

But it didn't happen, so it doesn't matter. If my Aunt had bollocks she'd be my Uncle et cetera.

 

It's something else that adds to the drama of the day when we're telling the story in the future.
