Something different but I'm listening to talk sport and Adrian Durham and Alvin Martin have got a debate going about who was better, Durham reckons cantona.
    I'd say bergkamp

    Bergkamp for me.

Not a fan of Arsenal but he was terrific. And i loved it when he scored for the Dutch in the 98 WC v Argentina (after the cheating twats had knocked us out).

    His first touch was sublime.

Depends what you mean - individual ability as a player or impact they made on a club?

The former it is Bergkamp, the latter its Cantona without a shadow of a doubt. Utd wouldnt be what they are today if they hadnt signed Eric, simple as. He changed them beyond recognition.

Did they cheat? If anyone cheated in this fixture post 86 it was Owen (there you go Carmine).

    Bergkamp for me.

That goal he scored against Newcastle was ridiculous, I'm not convinced he meant if but if he did then it was outrageous.

He also scored one of the best hat tricks I've ever seen, against Leicester I think it was.

Cantona was a great player but Bergkamp just shades it IMO.

    The man was pure class.

    Agree with Bum.

Bergkamp had everything bar that extra yard of pace. If he was as fast as Messi/Ronaldo he'd probably be the greatest player of all time.

Cantona was more of an icon.

They were incredibly dirty in both matches.

Owen got cleaned out by Ayala for our first penalty of the night.

That Ortega got sent off in that Dutch match for chinning someone.

Hmm, Im pretty sure Beckham's cowardly kick when he thought noone was looking was what got him sent off.

They were both great players of their time, wouldn't say one was better than the other particularly.

Cantona, bergkamp was probably better with a ball, but cantona was far more talented with a deluded palace fans face at his feet, so he clinches it.

Bergkamp for me, totally unbiased and not influenced in any way by the fact he's my favourite player EVER!!

I youtube'd (not for the first time) that Argentina goal after everyone was kissing Suarez's arse for his control and finish against Newcastle.

It's very very good vs sublime with a touch of genius.

I'm not sure you can really compare the two, Bergkamp was consstenly good and rarely made a mistake, whereas Cantona was more eratic, but often did more spectacular things.

Fact is, they were both brilliant, almost as good as Junior Lewis.

I was never really interested in Arsenal, but for some reason, I was a big fan of Marc Overmars.
