Morning all, weather ok ish today, but I have given up looking at the predictions as they are wrong far too often. :(

Hoping that some things arrive in the post today. Two days of holiday are not enough for some, they are taking today off as well to help them ease into the weekend.

Potatoes need earthing up again. Warmth and rain is helping them, along with some other things. Better get the wellies on. ;)

    Afternoon all

1,000 words of 'The Morning Gift' rewritten this morning...only about 109,000 to go!

My dandelion plucker arrived this morning....and there are about a million dandelion flowers in the field adjacent to the back garden. This may be a battle that can't be won!

No, it's one made in Finland:

The Fiskars weed puller removes weeds in three simple steps: Step-Pull-Eject. The weed puller is great for removing weeds such as dandelions from the lawn. Its deep reaching stainless steel jaws grab the root from multiple directions and a long shaft means no digging or bending is required, reducing strain on the body.

I like the "no bending required" part...

True - contrary to popular belief, they never did a lot of sailing or thieving. ;)

Well that was a load of huff and puff, but very little quality. I had hoped for better, but the two managers provided most of the entertainment. ;)

    Advantage Brighton methinks! <ok>

I can't believe how exhausting it is when you can hear properly, as my dear old Mum used to say, "I'm buggered up!"

    Night all <hug>

    Evening all

Just finished reading an amusing cricket book called 'Not Out First Ball'. It's about a cricket club formed in Hampshire by two fellows who loved the game but were fairly incompetent when it came to playing it. It's a very fine antidote to all the ills of professional sport and stopped me thinking about Sunday for an hour or two.

Morning all - awake early again, I will really be happy when the season finished and I can relax, whatever league we are in!
We have guests this evening. #1 son has a new girlfriend and is bringing her for drinks and nibbles - well, I say girlfriend but apparently it's all different these days with many potential stages in a "relationship" that are all rather confusing. So she is not a girlfriend and they are not going out together, but they are some kind of "item" that cannot seem to be described...so I just ask:- is she a friend and is she a girl? And I ask do you go out to "places" together? of course the answer to both is yes! - so I give up! In our day it courtship was much simpler, you went on a date, then starting going out together, then possibly got engaged and then possibly got married - simple. Anyway, it means I am preparing all sorts of "nibbles" this afternoon and evening..
I was busy yesterday and did not read through The Nest or the Leicester threads, so not sure if it was mentioned about Luthur? He was in the crowd on Thursday. Was talking with the supporters and having photos done in the concourse before the game and then came and sat right near the top to watch the game - there are very few players that I call a Legend, but that gentleman is one, absolute class.
Thanks in advance for the frothy AK - if you are about today.
