Well it's a long shot. It's Villa's last home game of the season and if you take out relegated QPR and Reading they've only beaten 3 Premier League teams (Sunderland, West Ham, Swansea). Also Benitez's last away game, possibly Lampard's too and players fighting for a spot in the final knowing we have to win. Villa pretty much don't have to win as Wigan winning at the Emirates is extremely unlikely and a draw leaves everybody with 40 points safe.
All I'm saying is the squad has been shrunk by the board, that's an undeniable fact. Given we have two strikers and only four centre midfielders available to last an entire 70 game season, I wouldn't expect us to be any higher than 3rd. I don't think it's fair to say the players have underachieved when some are 20/21 and in their first season in English football and played between 70-90 games this season. That's all I'm saying. The club/board has underachieved, but not the players.
Then why did you refer to Mata, Hazard and Oscar as your only '3 fit MFers'? Name the ones you mean and what area of the MF you're referring too...as usual you haven't been very clear have you. You also haven't factored in your managers persistant use of the same players, the players on your bench must be getting hunchbacks by now...not the fault of your board! Or are you saying Lamps Romeu Marin etc are all ****?
Depends how you play i guess. If Chelsea want to admit to being a hoofball team then i suppose DL is right.
I have to say I wish we would make a serious study of how Hazard, Oscar and Mata managed to play so many games and stay fit. Partly it's that Hazard and Oscar particularly are young and all three are thin, which seems to help. But if we'd been able to keep, say, Bale, Dembele and Sandro as healthy we'd be pushing for second at this point, I think (other things being equal, of course, which they never are).
Midfielders play in and around the middle of the pitch. Mata, Oscar and Hazard play in the final third, there are first and foremost attackers. They've had to be used because there are no other alternatives to play behind the striker and the manager doesn't want to change formation.

Really? But you've got hazard, Marin, Oscar, etc etc etc. how many players are you wanting to put on the field exactly? Chelsea have one of the deepest, most expensive squads in the prem, it's not stripped bare by any stretch
WTF is this, a let's feel sorry for poor little Chavski thread? There, there, never mind. I'm sure Uncle Roman will give you another £100mil or so to dry your eyes with this summer.
