Its worrying that Downing believes he is on a par with Hendo, never mind thinking he is a automatic first eleven player. However, this is only Downing's opinion and hopefully not the thoughts of the main man...BR!

When he does overlap, Johnson is either thinking: "**** it I'll do it all myself" or isn't thinking at all, because there is only one place the ball is going after Stewie has had it and that is to the opposition!
He was bought to take a player on and whip in a few crosses not rely on Johnson to overlap. For 20 million he has been a waste of winger and the fact he thinks OK is doing enough is a problem, not just footy wise but mentality wise. We need players who always think they can do more and more and get better not be satisfied with OK.
20 million buys you mata, martinez or even hazard when they were young enough. their potential was obvious. 30mil buys you aguero. the lunacy of downing and carroll rightly got comolli the bullet. charlie adam at 7mil was a joke also. they did business early and got henderson for 16mil that looks wise to me. they did business late with enrique and got a bargain price due to contract.... this time round we waited for sturridge and we snapped up coutinho. If the man on the street thinks a deal is gash it is 90% of the time. nobody on here will say they wanted downing or carroll or adam... not one were, are or ever will be top 4.

Are you insane? If we were to sell Henderson now we would only get about 8 million pounds, and a quarter of that price is purely because of his nationality.
I think Suarez had this problem before he linked with Coutinho, Sturridge and Enrique. He tried to do too much (still does) and he simply didn't have faith in others. I think this is a general problem with the team - there's no confidence to pass to players who have a couple of defenders on him. Good players are able to control instantly, turn, drag the players out of position and then release it. We simply just make the safest passes possible which isn't threatening.
