I know Bruce has had a good season in the championship but playing him in the premiership would be insane. He's the turning circle of an asteroid and gets done on the turn far too easily. Think how the skilful players in the premiership will waltz by him... Also his service from the back is shocking and playing out from the back will be an essential part of our game I'd have thought, most definitely if we stick with the 3-5-2 as is looking likely. Definitely need another quality center half.
Agreed. There's a difference between having a good Season in the Championship and being able to perform effectively in the EPL. At least with Abdoulaye Faye, he understands he'll probably only get used against the physical teams; your Stokes and West Hams whereas Bruce, unfortunately doesn't look to have what it takes to be an EPL player. We would most definitely thank him for the effort he put in for us and the way he performed every job he was given to his best ability should we release/sell/loan him to another Club. Was his contract a one year deal? Or has he got another year or two left?
I agree about his passing but defensively he's not let us down since his first game at Blackburn away and that's the main thing. I'd rather have Bruce make a good tackle and then give it away than have some of the defenders we had last time who didn't even defend in the first place. As for expecting him to get skinned every week, didn't we say that last year?
bruce did an ok job fir us in the championship, his ability to pass a ball leaves a lot to be desired but it does not seem to matter at that level. in the prem he is/will not be good enough even for a bit part role im affraid. im also scared if hes with us bruce will have an urge to give his kid a run of pl games

out of that list i would want only 4 players: rhodes (likely not to happen), sako, kone (not going to happen) and turner (again not going to happen). i did not include elmo or boyd as i think theres already deals in place? and stockdale is not good enough. parr i like however i dont him as being worth that much so at 3.5mill no thanks!! me thinks 100% of that is made up rumours anyway

We'll be getting all the old Sunderland cast offs once they get their act together in the summer. By that i mean Bramble, Bardsley, Wickham, Whitehead. All the ones they don't want, and the ones Bruce knows all about. Rhodes is on something like £40K a week at Blackburn, so there's no chance of us getting him.
Luis McGugan without a doubt especially as he is a FAT. Great replacement for Olifinjana in the squad. How about Javier Acuna from Real Madrid. Out of contract and being released and wants to play in the PL. Has been on loan to Girona this season and has scored 13 goals. Worth a punt maybe if the wages are not high.
Nobody at Sunderland worth having imo. As for Rhodes he will have to drop his wages if he is ever to leave Blackburn. Nobody will pay that in wages for him unless they got him as a FAT.

As much as I'd like us to sign Rhodes there are better strikers out there for similar prices and half his wages, so he's a no-go. Sako, Turner, and Kone would all be decent buys. Of course I'd want Elmo and Boyd. (Deals already in place?) Would only sign Stockdale if we couldn't get someone like Mannone/Pantilimon. (Heard his name on here somewhere..) Odemwhingey? No thanks.
