It's pretty much been done to death now. We've all given Sunderland a bit of a ribbing over it,I even joined in dubbing them the Black Shirts but they are a pretty decent bunch of lads and I think you are both going to be ok,even with a point a piece on Sunday.
Hopefully we will all be ok CT. I actually prefer playing teams with something at stake though. Year after year teams with nothing to play for go out and get good results against so called must win teams. Swansea the latest example. Hope WBA don't do that to you on Sunday.
They are nervous on our board and mindful of their result at SMS.But then again the Pie Eaters did them over, although nobody knows how.I think the big fear with our lot is that if Villa are safe on the last day they will let Wigan win.I think Lambert is too professional for that myself.
Don't think any team in this country would let another win, but there is the possibility that such a team would let their foot of the gas. However, I'm sure if Villa went a goal down, they'd be fired up again. Sometimes the need to win can work against you...Wigan's desperation could make them all fired up to score and result in snap shots and misses. This is why I am more hopeful against Sunderland than I was as I think Saints will be a bit more relaxed. However, no point in over-thinking things...none of us really know or we'd be robbing the bookies.
I think we all know Di Canio has some questionable political beliefs, whether we would go as far to say he is truly a fascist I don't know. Personally as long as he keeps his political beliefs well locked away I don't see the need to keep banging on about it. Its possible his opinions/beliefs may have changed since the salute etc. And anyway, isn't it a bit fascistic of us to hate another for being a fascist?!
Purely selfishly, I'd like Saints, West Brom, QPR, Chelsea and Liverpool all to win as this leaves an exciting last day.
As per Richard Herring- racists see the world as only 4 races rather than 192.... they're 188 steps closer than the rest of us to seeing everyone as the same!
Everyone is banging on about Di Canio being a fascist but I, for one, don't really know what that means he believes in. Obviously, the 2ndWW gave fascists a bad name but I remember reading a splendid book once about Britain being ruled by a 'paternalistic' fascist. Obviously, it was fictional but here was a chap who was basically able to get on and do what was needed without having to play the political games that are normally required. In the end he got ousted by the rich cartels of businessmen etc who were being excluded from the decision making process and saw their wealth being diminished. What he wasn't was racist and all the other things one might normally associate with fascism. Anyway, my point is that I don't think its worth mentioning everytime his name is brought up. Unless anyone happens to know exactly what he believes.
Richard Herring.... 192 different countries/cultures? Makes more sense if you watch his stand up show 'Hitler Moustache'. Genetically no such thing? What do you mean by this? Race is a classification system using anatomical, cultural, historical, geographical, ethnic, linguistic, religious and social factors so really it is there for purposes of taxonomy. Race is not purely genetic, no, but genetic traits are used as part of the classification.
We have Wes Brown, Bramble, Gardner, Cattermole, Sessegnon and Fletcher all missing for the match. I'm still going for a draw which will put both teams safe mathematically, even though both teams are now cos Arsenal will beat Wigan.
I'm still excited about this weekend, but it's nowhere near the level of last weekend. After Wigan's midweek defeat, the whole mass battle to avoid relegation on the last day has had its balloon well and truly popped. But if we can avoid defeat, and Newcastle, Norwich and Villa can all lose, then we might still be able to salvage some final day drama (without us really being involving, if at all). At the very least, Newcastle and Norwich would still be left sweating. Alternatively, just have Newcastle lose. Them going down - especially if their replacement is Palace! - would be massive for us next season.
