Will be interesting. Can't be too hard on us for laughing a bit when you lot gave us LOADS of **** with Rodgers. Now we both have managers who are unproven at the top level and not won ( anything?) much in their careers. I will have popcorn ready though.
If it hasn't already been said then I imagine things will be run in almost exactly the same way as before, Moyes will know that Fergie is nearby to show him the ropes and Fergie knows that his buddy Moyes will be a lot more receptive to advice on how to run the club than any other manager might have been. I honestly don't think much will change in terms of playing style/effectiveness/success in the short term. In the long term I have my doubts over his capabilities though. It will be interesting to see how United will fare over the next few years. I am sad that we will never have the chance to win the league and properly do one over United with Fergie at the helm. But in fairness to the man he's the reason why we could never do that.
I actually wonder if United have been very disrespectful to Everton here, doing this to them with two games left this season. Imagine how the squad must feel. The mood on the training ground and in the dressing room cant be great. Could be great for us...

Do we think he's capable of keeping utd running year in year out? I think not. Utd's drive is worth 20points to them at least. lose the drive and utd lose their dominant status.
I think United's strength has been in the mentality. They believe they can and will win. A lot of people, including me feel that a lot of the United players are not actually that good compared to some other big 4 rivals. But the mentality makes these players work and win. Ferguson built that mentality. They do risk loosing that. But I think the scenior players will do enough to keep them competing.
Sorry if this has been mentioned in the previous 7 pages... Usually when a manager leaves a place with some part of his contract still to go some sort of compensation package is made, but in this case Everton will receive nothing in losing Moyes to united... Do you think that in order for them to 'receive' compensation for losing Moyes then the potential transfer fee for Baines and Fellaini might just be say, inflated, by say £5m more than really they should go for... I cant believe that some sort of deal wouldn't be done for the blue noses... Moyes always says that the club is in his heart so what better way to 'help' them out than give em a big wedge of money to start off their search for a new manager and players... What do you think...?
Moyes and Everton may do what Swansea and Rodgers did and agree not to do transfer business for a year unless the player looks likely to leave any way. Moyes could then do a Rodgers and sign Baines any way... I think Felliani will end up at Chelsea still.
As a serious point yes everton should be getting compensated. We don't know the behind the scenes stuff... either everton are getting ass polled by utd and will lose their best players and all staff too or everton are on a big promise for more players like gibson... On the outside I can't say of course. I would presume some amicable deal is in place.

I think it s fairest that Moyes signs a contract saying he wont sign any Everton players fora year, or maybe even 18 months.
No chance, it's business. Kenwright wanted them to pay for him to be released now, as he's got 6 weeks left on his contract - but they refused, so he won't start until his contract expires, which leaves us in the idiotic position of having him overseeing our last 2 games. Moyes has stiched up 'the club that he loves' like a ****ing kipper over this. As he'll have known about this for months & yet hasn't shared it with his Chairman, so that he could at least start planning for life without him. Instead he's been giving it 'we'll see what happens at the end of the season', bogus imo. Fellaini has a buyout clause anyway btw & United won't pay the asking price for Baines, same as they wouldn't last season, due to his age & his position.
Malky Mackay has been suggested as a good choice for Everton today. Mackay would be horrid to walk away from Cardiff.

There's no inconsistency at all. Moyes did a fabulous job at EFC, one that I thank him for wholeheartedly. I wish him all the best for the future & cannot blame him for taking the biggest job in English (& maybe World) football. However, the way he's strung us along over his contract is poor form imo. Behind closed doors he should have had the decency to share with Kenwright what his plans were, as Kenwright genuinely didn't have a clue about this. I think after 11 years of a very close working relationship, that he owed him that. So the manner of his departure leaves a somewhat sour taste.

A manager who refused to sign a new contract or state his position for next year, and only had 6 weeks left on his current one...and he didn't anticipate that he might need a new manager in the summer? That's bollocks. Kenwright surely must have been looking at alternatives as a precaution or he's incredibly stupid.
He's been here before with Moyes - brinksmanship over a new contract is nothing new here - albeit this time was much closer to the wire. Who'd have forseen United offering the job this summer, a few weeks back? What other options were available to him, that would have paid £4M+ p.a.? Kenwright thought he'd stay - no doubt about that. Ok he's been naïve, but Moyes has dry humped him here, as this has been going on for months.
