the only part i agree on is the money part but each to there own opinion... its not as obserd as saying we are on par with celtic etc thats for sure
I've been reading your dribble on here the last few weeks, it started before the last few games when you were saying we were already in the play-offs. Please take the advice of another user I read on here and **** off somewhere else.
i still stand by the fact we got lucky, i will take it though!!! thats something i have said for a while now aswell, if we can only just scrape promotion we need vast improvements in our starting 11... yet some seem to think we don't.
A managers reputation goes a long way in the deciding factor of where a player goes too. Now Steve Bruce was captain of Man Utd has ties with Sir Alex and has a history of keeping unfashionable clubs up in the prem and I believe a reputation for keeping good fighting spirit in the dressing room. Last time we had Brownie who lets face it was a bit out of his depth and it was our first season in the prem in our history, this time round we have a respected experienced manager and we have been two seasons in the prem recently. We almost qualify for that yo yo club tag now which is a huge improvement over how we were thought of just a few short years back when nobody thought we could survive in the championship. City still have a ways to go yet but I think you underestimate our pulling power for players this time around. Aluko would never had come to Hull if Brownie or Barmby were in charge and we wouldn't have got Meyler or Elmo either. We aint big dogs yet but we are bigger than last time so we are deffo making progress eh
I think it's more important to think about developing a quality academy set up with the money coming into the club. Remember last time we went up we came back down with nothing to show for it? Buy the quality championship players along the lines of your Chester/Aluko/Boyd/Brady types and we might stay up but if we come back down we haven't spent ridiculous amounts on the like of Bullard/Ghilas/(old)McShane/Olifinjana/Hunt etc. The more resaleable assets the better.
We scraped through while missing a few rubbish players for long periods who never make any impact: Aluko, Fryatt, Hobbs, Gedo.....
Oh I agree Horsham an academy set up would benefit the club greatly for years to come, with us bouncing around the top of the championship and prem makes us much more attractive to talented youngsters than it used to. Leeds got all the Yorkshire talent back in the day and even Barmbys lad went to Man U rather than Hull City, but if we can spend some prem money on developing youth and decent training facilties for the first team rather than just a pitch in Cottingham then I wouldn't mind coming straight back down to have a crack at promotion again.
Spot on Horsham. That and new and bang upto date training, medieval and rehab facilities. That is the future and it also, in its own way, add to the appeal of a a club when players decide whether or not to join.
