So what if Newcastle, Stoke or Norwich end up going down this year? Are they still a bigger club than us? Surely if they are now, they will be in the championship?
stop trying to be a **** seriously in terms of history they still would be... however of course prem > championship in terms of attraction. now if they stay up there a much better option (in any one outside of hull) eyes!! u may not like it but its true rightly or wrongly it is true!!
No need to be a prick because somebody doesn't agree with you. I'm not saying Hull are Manchester United all of a sudden, I'm not saying we are a more attractive club than Norwich or Newcastle. What I am saying is that we need to target players who are better than our club, who will improve us. Surely your little head can understand that now, can't it?
yes but thats based on current events we are not man city nor are we a better club than the teams i listed all of which have been in pl longer than us . can any of you honestly tell me u would expect a player to sign for us on the same wage terms than say swansea, sunderland, stoke, norwich, newcastle, wigan etc etc now im not saying if they go down im saying IF THEY STAY UP!!! do u really think a player with no affiliation to us would choose us over said teams if the same contract was offered by both ends? if you say yes you are delueded im not saying its right that its this way but the fact remains that it is this way...
For all this talk of who we'll bring in is a bit forward. Most likely we'll be getting established premier league side's cast offs. And if Sunderland stay up i fear it'll be theirs, ie the likes of Bardsley and Wickham. All players Bruce had play for him up there. I hope i'm wrong.
No I agree with you. Those are all bigger clubs than us because they're established PL clubs and we're a newly promoted side. I just hate the 'history' argument which is total bullshit.
So we don't even try and sign players just in case a bigger and better club try and sign them too? There are a lot more factors that go in to signing a player than just club stature, timing being one of them! You could be the biggest team in Europe, but if Accrington Stanley sign him before you have a chance then you're screwed.

but my history point is take forrest as mentioned above if we both wen up together who do you think players would know more about? who do you think in there eyes would be the bigger better club? we may very well be (and are) better than them but if both went up due to history they would not be as much a laughing stock as we are. its just how football and life in general works mate.
we can try by all means, and i hope we get them but do understand any actual proven players we get will be overpayed or older players looking for a final payday unless bruces name and reputation alone is enough (i hope it is) to bring them in
Celtic are an attraction because they're an average sized fish in a tiny pond. The players they attract equally know they will look like world-beaters in the SPL and they also get a few minute in the European spotlight. To denegrate Hull City's achievements and quality because we have played in a very competitive and hard 2nd tier league compared to the far inferior 1st tier SPL is a mistake. It's true we will struggle to survive in the EPL, but that's only because it's a first class competition, and no doubt if we not only survived but finished in a European spot people like you would still say Celtic are a better team because they qualified for the Champions League again.
big if tho if all we can attract is has beens and never beens i actually trust bruce to do a good job anyway i really rate the guy.
haha no mate i brought the celtic thing up due to some clown (was it you i dont remeber) listen wanyama and hooper as targets and then a few of you started spouting **** as to why we are on par with celtic etc. i agree with a lot of what you say in regards to celtic the team how ever there a much more attractive option to players than us and to say otherwise is just a joke...

No it really isn't. They'd look at who's offering the most money, the fanbase, the manager, the team in place and speak to their current manager and team mates for advice but they definitely wouldn't go to Forest just because they were good for a brief period 40 years ago.
the only part i agree on is the money part but each to there own opinion... its not as obserd as saying we are on par with celtic etc thats for sure
