Any Scot thinking about voting for independence, simply needs to listen to Elgar's Land of Hope and Glory whilst eating fish and chips. You'll be cured of your folly in no time
The fact that English (and Scottish people!) keep using this as an argument against Independence baffles me. Even if it were true what sort of human, or society wants to maintain a system of dependence on others? The drive should not come from the promise of a nicer house or a bigger TV, but the hope that you may attain a sense of dignity and self respect.
80% of the population of Scotland is a drug-addled mess. Do you really think it's a good idea to just 'leave them to it'?
Yes you are correct about the Irish, the bail out was incredibly embarrassing for the Irish nation - similarly the notion, that England is perpetually bailing out Scotland, should be embarrassing to the Scottish.
The embarrassing thing is that, unlike most countries, voting rights are being denied to people living outside the native country
I'm against Independence... But when you read the opinions of some of the thick english ****s on this site, then it makes me think the SNP might be onto something.
