Completely outclassed in the second half by the better team (a team, not a one man show), Spurs are saved by an offside goal. Hopefully we will not be robbed by the ref or a cheat like Suarez v Villa. We are better than the Tea Boy 'team' as evidenced by our cup runs, stronger league performance and GD despite having played a lot more games. Next season I expect us to finish 10-15 points clear of the Tea Boys. They can't rely on Bale forever. And they offer nothing when he does not turn up
Agreed, though under Rafa we do struggle to see games out. Our defence just isn't solid enough to be protecting 1 goal leads for so long - see also Liverpool away. We need to be a bit more ruthless, hopefully that'll improve next year.
To be fair Adebayor was only about 3 inches offside and he was onside a couple of minutes later when wrongly flagged offside while straight through on goal. Not exactly a massively pro-Spurs performance by the Assistant ref.
Spot on EC as usual plus we have played **** loads more games than those jokers too! So much for Jose's tea-boy saying we were transparent and have no plans??? We have a European final and are 3rd in the league Two sugars please Andre!
The two games between us this season shows the gulf in class between the teams. We have outclassed Boring Spurs on both occasions. The gap in terms of technique and quality has certainly got bigger since the Tea boy took over the tots. We are much better than them. If they had played 70 games this season they would be in the relegation zone!
Given that your squad cost about three times ours and gets paid twice as much - do you think 3 extra points over a season is good value?
He was slightly more favourable to Chelsea on similar calls (eg the obstructions by Huddlestone and Cole) and missed a couple of clips on Bale but was generally fine and I don't think the calls by officials changed the result of the match
He did. I wasn't complaining, it's just that I felt he favoured you guys as was shown by giving you nearly 3 times as many fouls The lino however was poor for the decision that allowed Adebayor to back heel it to Sigurdsson though and the decision to rule him offside immediately after when he broke the offside trap. Complain about it all you want but at least it crossed the line
He didn't. He played a very good advantage which allowed you to score and awarded several soft free kicks for dives by your full backs. You committed more fouls because we had technically more gifted players. Hazard is the most fouled player in the PL. I'd wager a bet Oscar and Mata are not far behind. At the beginning of the 2nd half we were all over you and the only way you could stop us was by fouling us on the counter hence more fouls committed
But, for example, when Vertonghen made an excellent clean tackle where he got the ball first it was given as a foul and a booking (compare Ramires at old Trafford) but when Ramires cynically fouled Parker to try to stop a breakaway, Dean correctly played the advantage that led to Ade's goal but didn't go back and give Ramires a yellow. Subtle prejudice towards the better team - happens all the time in all sports.
Can't argue with that but that's referees in England for you. The same has happened to us at WHL year after year. Generally Spurs get favoured slightly more at WHL and we do at the Bridge.
