That post was from a city fan? I thought it was some deluded birmingham fan... Oh dear and i guarantee chester will be a top 10 prem player within 3 years with us or without.. He's not had the best season but his reading of the game is absolutely terrific **** davies, he's a has been
Unconfirmed reports saying Hull City will announce the Signing of Curtis Davies early next week on a 3 and a half year deal #bcfc #hcafc Off the twittersphere
would no doubt help our aerial potency from corners/set pieces, an area we've lacked effectiveness in for some time. 6 league goals last season for Brum. I'd be ok with this. he's a decent experienced defender at or around the level we should be looking.
c'mon....why would you change what is clearly the word corner to cornet just to make an ice cream related joke?!?!? (edited whilst eating a magnum)
A has been at 28? ****ting crikey what does that make me then?!? And anyone saying that about Chester is basing their opinion on everything prior to this season. He was one of our worst defenders this season, so how you can 'guarantee he will be a top 10 prem player within 3 years' is beyond me. I, like everyone, hope his poor form this season was a blip but it could just as easily be that last season was the blip....
Doesn't the fact that he is first on the team sheet and has been all season (ahead of the likes of Faye, McShane and even Hobbs at times) suggest to you that maybe, you're wrong on this one?
Nah. Looks like Celtic bound especially if they sell Gary Hooper. 3 and a half year deal ? Surely as it will be a summer signing it will only be 3 years if it happens ? Yes he is wrong. Well said ^^^ this. Chester had played in a 4-4-2 and then had to learn to play in a 3-5-2 system. He addapted well overall. FFS, even John Terry and Rio Ferdinand have bad games. Chester is allowed that as well.

I've always rated him as a defender and it seems they'd be disappointed to let him go http://www.ftbpro.com/posts/ricky.mann/176123/hull-city-looking-at-birmingham-city-s-curtis-davies If it's £1.5m I think it's a great buy, £3m is a bit steep though imo, but I'm sure Bruce knows what he's worth.
We've generally had 3 and a half fit centre backs at any one time this season (ie 3 fit to start, one not too injured to be on the bench just in case). Chester has just been the only one that hasn't picked up a knock every couple of games he plays. His performances have been poor by his standards, but I think it's more down to the role he's been asked to play. In a back 3 he should be the free man with the other 2 picking up the strikers as that plays to his reading of the game, takes away from his aerial weakness, and gives him time on the ball when another centre back has won the first ball in the air. Instead he's been one of the two picking up a man, and for some reason I can't work out yet it's just not worked the same way for him as it did when we had 2 in the middle. Possibly the presence of the 3rd centreback has put him in an odd frame of mind when it's come to passing under pressure, where last year he'd give it straight to the keeper knowing Hobbs was going to have a striker on him, he's spent time thinking about whether to play it back to Stockdale or whether to keep it higher up with Faye (or whoever has been the free man). I'd have to look back on his mistakes to see how many were made when heading towards his own goal under pressure from the striker to be certain, but I can't be bothered right now so I'll leave it as a theory. Before it's taken the wrong way by someone, as Tickler said it was an unfamiliar system he had to learn. I'm not having a go at Chester, I'm just trying to explain why he didn't look as solid this season as he did the year before. He's learnt it a bit now so if we stick with it next season he should be more comfortable (allowing for the vast improvement in the strikers he's up against)
