Absolutely and I don't doubt having the backing of fungus will mean a lot. It will earn him some respect and get him a bit of slack but if things aren't going well, share price starts to drop, boardroom politics starts to come into play etc it will be a far tougher situation for him than he's ever known.

Wigan chairman Dave Whelan is resigned to losing manager Roberto Martinez sooner or later - but believes he could do better than Everton.

Whelan tells BBC Radio 5 Live: "It's a battle that I will lose and Wigan will lose at some point, I've no question on that. It's a case of would Roberto choose to go to Everton or would he wait for one of the really big clubs?"

I was laughing more at the fact that Whelan thinks he can do better, while Wigan are on the brink of relegation, and have been fighting relegation for the last few years. :p

He did alright at Blackburn on a budget, maybe the trick is to not give him money. Perfect fit <whistle>

Clarke has done a great job at WBA this season, but I don't think he's the man for us.

I do think you would be silly not to at least shortlist him.

Last season when Arsenal were really struggling Wenger hinted that this season could be his last. But the lift in Arsenal lately suggests to me he has changed his mind.

Big Fat Joe could always come back and do a turn! The last manager to win anything at Everton and indeed the last Englishman to win a major trophy in England!
