im ok with this news, he does not have the legs anymore but will provide good experienced back up, just a good head to have in the squad in general.

I don't pay the players wages so it's no concern of mine who's contract is renewed but despite his excellent efforts this season would he seriously stand a chance against the likes of Ashley Young? Wayne Rooney? Defoe, bale, Matta, Tor... Nevermind you get the point. past his best and the step up is asking too much. Backup I suppose.

no he would not but i dont expect him to start unless no one else is available, as an expereinced head in the camp and as back up i think hes a solid option.

If Faye has - Surely Rosie must have as well.

We need a centre- back with pace. Rosie, Macca, Elmo playing the RB/ RWB I'm happy with. Dudge/ Brady/ Macca Rosie LB/ LWB I'm happy with.

McShane. Hobbs, Chester, Faye at Centreback - I'm happy with but I do think we need a CB/ HM with pace to track pacey/tricky PL forwads.

Need a centreback with pace. Something additional to what we have. That's all I'm saying. We have pace at the back down the flanks. We need pace in the centre defensively. If it is a CB or Holding Midfielder I don't care. We need someone with recovery pace in the middle who can track a PL quality runner.

    Have I made myself clear?

Glad Faye is in, but we need defensive pace in central areas. Faye's experience will be invaluable.

    Echo, Echo, Echo.....

P.S. Sunderland "Echo" has us favourites for Elmo's signature - Hope they're right.

how are u happy with our full backs? they need improvement or at least better depth than macca elmo rb and brady macca lb. macca not prem standard elmo winger by nature, brady again winger by nature if they had to play there in the prem vs say bale hazard valencia nani etc etc it would be comical. also get this idea of us playing 532/352 next year out of your head. we would get torn apart in the prem playing this!!!

Forgetting Rosie, who can play both sides and Dudge who's a top level fullback in the making. Someone to replace Dawson as LB mentor/coach (P.Neville) would be perfectly adequate.

I doubt we'll play wing-backs all the time in the prem. Dudge behind Brady and Rosie behind Elmo will provide both attacking and defensive cover and over-laps.

we need to improve in the area for in case there not, they could both flop and we dont have any replacements... macca ****e at pl level and elmo/brady are wingers by nature not fullbacks

Maybe brady might be played as fullback - but Elmo wont. But fosussing on the rooneys, van persies etc is just stupid. It is the Puncheon's, Watson's, Kacaniclik's, Lambert's, Walters' etc.. we are competing with. Don't be a dosie with stars in your eyes. FFS!

Doesn't mean we can't cause these guys serious problems on a good day, but the battle for survival won't be settled by our record vs top 10 clubs next season.

    Don't delude yourself.

Oh, and Macca will surprise you. He always had the attributes, just was always a rush of blood from disaster. He looks to have the experience now and was still a relative youngster (for a CB) last time he was in the prem.

take another look at the names you listed... would you trust brady elmo macca against them? i wouldnt... and we are competeing with 19teams we need to try and get anything we can from them 19teams.... our team needs to stand a chance (however slim) of getting something from 19teams. elmo/brady as full back and macca do not give us any chance.

I think these guys will be compiteitive against the lower half.

I honestly see success as a long game similar to the "boing boing" nature of West Brom.

If we come down I don't care as long as our young squad remains intact with more experience and we're in the black so we can compete for promotion again within ourfirs or second season down.

Honestly though, I think you underestimate the quality we already have.

i dont we only just got out of the championship and u think there pl ready its insane!!! i would us to progress as a club rather than be a yoyo team or championship team. i do however agree with have some very good young players with big careers ahead of them, but would i trust them to keep us in the prem at this time? not many of them.... im not saying they should not have roles to play but we cant rely on them. we need improvements in the quailty of our starting 11 to keep us up. our current crop of players will make great rotational/back up players for sure.

Don't necessarily say they're P.L. ready. Do think they'll make a god-damn fist of it, do think they have the potential.

It's all about potential. I do know we have a technically better squad going up than last time.

Need the right experience to go with it though.

When talking priorities for strengthening I don't see full-back or wingers as a first concern. Don't see Cam Stewart as a realistic option though. Sorry.

just picture this: we go down put up a good fight, bruce our pl quality and best manager we have had will be snapped up by a pl team. say our young lads do well, say for example aluko, brady, chester, cairney (i do belive his game is very much suited to the pl and theres a gem of a player in there) to name the few i think could do well in the prem, so lets say they do. they will be snapped up by pl clubs as there of the right age and ability. we could then easily fall in to turmoil like before... i would rather we just get the right heads in and stay up :emoticon-0148-yes: in bruce i trust :)

Can't see Cairney being a feature.

Don't like to say it, bit can't see it.

    Sorry to say.

    * we'd all like to stay up, bit building for the future is the key here I feel. The most significant achievement this and next season is maintaining financial and technical advantage over championship clubs, with primarily a young, talented and hungry squad.

neither can i tbf shame though i do think he would do well for us. but that was just a list of players i think are of pl quaility and if given a run will impress other teams if we go down.
