Can you make sense of this for me? Taken from the WO. "The official attendance on Saturday was 16,968 but there were 985 supporters who did not show up to the game – almost half of those were season ticket holders." The areas that you normally see empty seats in were full. I just didn't see nearly 1,000 empty seats on the stream. Were there that many empty?
Agreed gth, but I just couldn't see where you could have got another 1,000 in. What I wondered was were there gaps that those there could see, but were not visible on TV.
There didn't look to be many empty spaces at all and there were more sitting in the East Stand than usual. I don't suppose they were paying customers.
yep. Looking from the Rookery, there was loads of empty seats down the side of the vicarage road end and the front couple of rows in the rous were empty too
The only big area of empty seats was on the far left of The Vic Road stand, about 3 or 4 rows nearly all rhe way down were empty. But this could not all be the ST holders that did not attend and those seats always seem to be empty - something I have never understood as the view cannot be obstructed there...there must have been seats dotted about, but none near me..
Morning all from a overcast bandit country, nice lie in but I cannot sleep. Looks like I have had a stroke of luck, a SAP consultant that worked for me for a few years and I had let go in March, has a contract in Leicester. Guess where he is staying? Only in the hotel next to the ground - so we get in there for a pre-match beer and he will pick up the tab! Thanks in advance for the frothy AK - any news on a new contract?
Morning all from an overcast Weston-super-Mare, it's still quite mild atm but the temperature will be dropping during the week ahead! Oh well, it was a decent Summer while it lasted!
He used to be my student UG and PG.... I taught him for 7 years, then I gave him a job.... and now we are writing a book together. he is also the colleague who is my co-team leader for Bhopal... clearly a prodigy
I was in the Lower Rous and thought I had BO - quite a few seats around me were empty. Add to that the fact that I only realised at the end of the match that I was in the wrong seat too, should have been five rows further back....... Any mobile phone experts on here? My provider is Virgin and for the last three days I've been unable to make or receive calls/texts. Have emailed Virgin to ask if there is a problem either with my account or the local mast - but they seem unwilling to reply. Is there a web site that I can look up to check for 'mast' problems?
Have you tried turning your phone off and on again? Is it a smartphone? You might have accidentally turned airport mode on or turned off your data connection? Have you checked the sim-card is well inserted? Can you receive calls? Did you last bill go through? Has your contract ran out? So many options...
Incidentally I am on virgin and could get no coverage in the rookery last w/e...... probably not a bad thing given the stress levels!
It's a BlackBerry - would'nt have a clue what 'airport mode' is or how to turn it on/off - accidentally or otherwise It was working on Monday night but had stopped by Tuesday morning - without me even touching it. Not sure about the contract - couldn't find anything about contract dates when I looked in my account - only the fact that my next payment would be taken out today, so am assuming it is still current. Will have to ring them and get nasty I suppose....
