Just thinking about how much of a difference Sone made to our team in terms of turning on the ball and driving everybody forwards. Do you think he will be better suited to the prem style or will he not shine as much? Could you see him moving from us up to a bigger club after a season or two?

He'll be our prime asset - defenders will be terrified of him running at them, either with or without the ball. And yes, I can see him doing well and getting snapped up by a bigger club.

An attacking trio of Brady, Aluko and Elmo/New RW behind a big striker (Austin, Di Santo etc.) would terrorise most defenses in the PL. Exciting times ahead!

Never said he was a target man, just a big striker with a presence. Good with his feet and will bring the 3 behind into play whilst getting half a dozen or so goal himself.

Not particularly, but he'd be more the type to bring Aluko and co. into the game and create them chances, whilst getting a few himself. Wouldn't just bring him in, would get a goal poacher like Le Fondre aswell.

And **** me, it was only a suggestion <doh> who would you bring in?

drogba.... no seriously austin sounds like a good option, jordan rhodes? le fondre is a good option, mackie? zamora? im not even sure but i trust bruce to pick a better option than di santo.

and more to the point you said a big striker to bring in aluko etc, not that would tell me we are playing with 1striker as such di santo would be our main striker... and hes just not a goalscorer. he also does not bring much of a pressence despite his size he is a panzy who is remind me a lot of prossie (clearly of better quaility than prossie).

also i would like or main starting striker to banging in 10+ for us to have a chance, we had goal scoring problesm this year... if we dont get goals from our striker we are ****ed. our current squad are not suddenly going to chip in with lots of goals.

Venky's would probably want £8m for Rhodes. Zamora will stay in London. Mackie gives lots of effort but doesn't score enough without great link up assets. Le Fondre if he fancies a move back up north and Austin would probably be my picks, although I feel we may need one with a bit of PL experience, but unfortunately they cost lots of money

Don't know if Aluko will be as good in the prem, the championship has you closed down quick and once you get by a player with your bag of Aluko tricks there's usually a lot of space to run into where as premiership defences tend to stand off a bit more and keep their shape. I still think he'll probably be our biggest asset though but his intelligence and teamwork will be given more of a test and he's always seemed a bit too ball greedy to me, can definitely see him grabbing us a fair few on quick counters though from set pieces etc. where he can pick up the ball, skin the only defender and stroll into a 1 on 1.

I think he'll be better off out on the wing and think that's where he'll play, where he'll get more opportunity to use his strong running, tricks and good long range shooting.

If Aluko rips it up, we need to extend his deal as he only signed a 2 yr contract, so he only has a year left!

look at the current team who coudl not score in the championship lets just take a rough guess at how many they will get in the prem:

    dudge: 0
    rosie: 0
    chester: 1? maybe
    hobbs: 1? maybe
meyler: scored a few in the champ but in the prem? 2-3?
quinn: hardly a regular scoring mid is he? 1-2?
    cairney: 1-2
brady: 2-3? maybe more if on a good run?
aluko: 4-5? doubt much more than that
elmo: 1-2? does not score much
boyd: 2-3? maybe 4-5 if (big if) he takes to the prem
    prossie: 1-2
fryatt: hardly top tier champ standard. let alone prem imo 2-3?
    oh forgot mcshane: 1?

only listed players i think could play any sort of a role next season (out of them i would only like to see 7-8 play any sort of regular role next season be that off the bench, filling in as/when needed, or 4-5 starting regularly)

Brady has been our best attacking threat for the second half of the season, looked like scoring a lot recently and if played in a formation like 4-2-3-1 where he is an attacker I could see him getting 8-10

Have been saying this since Saturday, in the style of chelsea with a 4-2-3-1 I think we would be fairly successful. We need a striker that will busy the defense and score goals though, I think Le Fondre would be a good bet. Also not sure if Elmo is attacking enough for that style, you would generally want a more direct winger like Sako from Wolves.

in the championship and we have an awful goals scored record lol. unlike many other city fans u will find i actually want to improve on that. also admit we were lucky to go up and bruce worked miracles, if we cant find a 10+ a season striker given the fact the rest of our team cant score the championship i shudder to think how we would do in the prem. also think we need to add more goals al the rest of the team but a prolific stiker is just a must...
