Your forgot a lack of talent for the PL as well. I would not mind Nathan Redmond from Birmingham mind.
I mentioned this chap a couple of days ago, I think he would be pretty good to replace Faye when he retires or leaves, good, composed and intelligent defender, he's similar to Bobby Moore in that repsect as he never gets dirty because he reads the game well and doesn't need to make last-ditch tackles, leave that stuff to Chester, Bruce, Hobbs or McShane.
I said he's a similar sort of defender in terms of how he plays in defence, I'm not saying he's in the same league as Moore because he isn't. Don't be pedantic.
Just needed it clarifying. Best not mention one of the greatest defenders ever to come from these shores in the same conversation as that over rated donkey. Take or leave that advice. Similar my arse.
He did, although thinking he didn't is perfectly acceptable since he seemed to spend more than half his time in the right wing position. There was no tactical reason for it, he just kept wandering off aimlessly into the midfield. Lee Clark's ability to turn a central back 3 of Butland in goal, Davies, and a Scotland international defender with plenty of top flight experience into the worst organised defence we saw this season was the most impressive thing about that team. It's funny, because the next worst after that was probably Huddersfield in the first game, and they're obviously his old club.
Birmingham had a televised game a few weeks ago and he was outstanding. However, I was never convinced by him when he was at Villa. I'd rather get someone on a free and pay wages rather than a fee plus wages for that position. Anyway, it's not us that will be doing the signings. as long as we get value for money from them
You'll get Davies because your in the prem, but he wont be cheap for a defender that knows how to get clubs relegated
It's ok we have a manager that knows how to get promoted from the championship and keep teams in the premier league !
My sour grapes are from when he was about to sign for us, but then blew us off for Birmingham at the last minute, look how that worked out for him.
