Good to see Fernando's new helmet going down well. Unlike Vettel who has a new 1 every 5 minutes. What's up with that, if you're going to do a special, maybe Monaco, or your home race, nothing else. Look at Schumacher, that helmet design he's had since '00 i believe, maybe '99, and it's become recognisable to anyone remotely interested in the sport. Commentators (the BBC's aren't the best in the world at identifying cars i'll admit, they rarely use the coloured T bar at the top but there we go) often struggle to identify drivers, if they all had their own helmet design that stayed the same, surely they'd have less trouble with this. For example, I'll use Mercedes, Rosberg and Schumacher's are wildly different, and you can instantly tell them apart, even at speed
I like how Schumacher's and Rosberg's helmets are colour coordinated with their t bar and gloves. The Mclaren drivers are easy to tell apart as well, Ferrari can be a little tricky sometimes. I agree that drivers should have their own personal helmet design and colours which they should stick with throughout their careers, maybe tweak it here and there to modernise it over time a bit like Button ahs done but still keep the same base design and colours.
Well Schumacher changed his in 2000 due to the uncanny similarity between his helmet and Ruben's making it difficult to tell them apart.
Maybe if they spent more time in the wind tunnel and less time with their fashion consultant they'd have more than a third place in 24 races. I think Alonso's new helmet looks class, shame he's only using it for two races, but his standard one is decent as well. I like how Vettel changes his as well, I like the one he has this weekend (I assume this one will last the weekend), apparently the pics on top are from previous Monaco grands prix: please log in to view this image
His current red helmet colour scheme is far better than his old scheme, much more in tune with his ferrari days, when he changed it
It's traditional at Monaco, same every year. As for the special helmet thing, I always thought it would be funny if one of them had a giant glans painted on his helmet, a helmet helmet, if you like. It would be a good visual joke and also like saying, "Yeah, I'm a dickhead"
Oops! It wasn't the wrong thread after all! It's not looking likely. please log in to view this image So... which driver do you think that would be most appropriate for?
Yeah maybe, for old times sake, but i get the impression, Schuberth, who make the helmets for Michael, and Schumacher himself, won't go back. he's had infinitely more success with the red, and everyone knows that he needs everything possible to get anywhere at the moment
