Well that's certainly more than can be said for shwan who changes his opinion depending on what Sky Sports tells him.

You mean 07/08? That was still just Mourinho's team with Grant playing exactly the same players and pretty much exactly the same tactics. Even then the only reason you were in it until the last day was the dodgy penalty you got at SB against us with two games to play.

As for 09/10, that season was embarrassing for the PL the number of teams that just rolled over and let you put seven or eight goals past them. That was the only season when the top teams and the bottom teams were equally ****e - the top teams were as bad in Europe as they were this year, and the bottom teams were so bad that 31 points would have been enough to ensure safety. In terms of average quality across all teams that was certainly one of the worst PL seasons ever.

    How do you know?

Seriously, you're just plucking a guess right out of the air, he could be perfect. We'll just have to see.

    It beggars belief doesn't it?

A manager with a track record of winning things and a squad he built will now be surpassed by a manager that hasn't won anything in addition to the fact it isn't even his squad? <laugh>

Fergie had success before United, winning a European trophy with Aberdeen was quite an achievement and he had an aura about him. Moyes does not. Not saying he'll be **** but he won't be AF.

why not? who knows? he kept Everton constantly at top6 with with no money
people were not as sure if Sir Alex > Matt Busby or not too when he joined us.. they laughed on the comparison at that time
Moyes manged 2 clubs, promoted Preston to league 1 and then almost another straight promotion reaching the playoff final just before joining everton
remind me alot with Sir Alex start at St. Mirren

Not true. Everton have a pretty big net spend over the last 10 years, not as big as us big 3, Citeh and Spurs, but big enough.

And there is no way Moyes will match fergie. I like Moyes, i think he's a damn good manager, but Fergie is on another level. I loathe the guy and i'm glad he's ****ing off, but i can acknowledge his ability.

EDIT: Just realised it's Shwan, why the **** am i bothering?

He's taking the next step up, the potential is there.

    Might work, might not.

Personally I would have liked Klopp or Guardiola but that's not to be so it was short term temporary roller coaster with Mourinho or long term slow burn stability with Moyes.

It was a toss up I guess, not too concerned with who we've got but feel he'll take a couple seasons to get a grip.

Working backwards 6,7,7,8,5,5,6,11,4,17,7. That's an average of 8th. Not really sure that can be described as 'constantly at top6' do you?

yes bcz it was easy to qualify and play at league as bad as SPL ... Real madrid too was not as good as now
top4 in PL is so hard , that a team full of world class players end up 5th last season, that team called chelsea .. so is not easy to break in .. he actually did even once finished top4 , ahead of CL winner liverpool

You're talking out of your pipe.

He went from sell to buy to sell to pay the bank.

He's spent £10M net in 11 years, but don't let the facts get in the way of your total ignorance

Aye, but it was a lot easier to win European trophies back in the 70s and 80s when the game wasn't dominated by so many big clubs.

I doubt Moyes will ever be SAF, but then I doubt any manager ever will be tbh. Mourinho or Guardiola could come to Utd and I doubt we would be as successful over the next 20 years as we have been over the past 20.

Ultimately Moyes is in the top three available candidates along with Mourinho and Klopp, and there's no guarantee that either of those two would do better than him. You might expect Mourinho to do so, but then he might be as average at Utd as he has been at Madrid.
