I'd be staggered if Moyes is given the job. He's done some good things at Everton, but with all due respect, Everton aren't 1/10 of the size and challenge that United is. The United job nowadays is a world away from what it was from when Fergie first came to the club. Moyes has been at the club for more than 10 years, what has he achieved? One top 4 finish? They then got knocked out at the qualifying stages the following season. Even Fergie came here on the back of European success with Aberdeen. We're still in debt, and now being on the NYSE, success is even more paramount than it ever has been to make sure we continue to win things consistently. Europe is a massive source of our income, would the board really be willing to put a man in charge who has never even managed a club into the Champions League group stage? Then there's the lack of silverware. Even Swansea and Birmingham have picked up silverware in recent years. He had a huge opportunity this season in the FA Cup, they crashed out at home to Wigan. Then of course the dog ****e football that they play. He has no charm, no charisma. It would be a sad sad day if Gollum were placed in charge. If you want someone who's young, has European experience and has silverware, and don't want Mourinho, then the job that Jurgen Klopp has done at Dortmund in the 5 years he's been at the club is far far more deserving than anything Moyes has done.

True, but I don't think Klopp is going anywhere soon. Seems a loyal type and nothing he has said lately indicates he'll be going anywhere. Moyes is heavilly tipped because it's pretty slim pickings out there. If you consider who is actually available and say Jose comes to CFC or even PSG, who else is there really? Pep's going to Bayern, Ancelotti probably to Real, Rafa wont happen obviously, no other obvious candidates within the P.L etc

Manchester United chief executive David Gill, speaking to MUTV: "We have to look forward now and I think any manager coming in will inherit a great squad and great staff around him. It is a dream job. I won't speculate on the announcement but I think we will move relatively quickly. "In Sir Matt Busby and Sir Alex we got in managers who got involved in all aspects of the club. That degree of loyalty is crucial to the success of Manchester United. He (the next manager) needs the required football experience in terms of domestic and European requirements, so it is a small pool."

I though the same when I read that. However knowing Gill that means Moyes is a dead cert to get the job now
It's a great day for Utds rivals,whoever takes over Utd will be considerably weaker I've always believed the side of ferguson which so irritates all his rivals has been the edge which has kept him on top year on year Thoroughly loathsome but its impossible to knock the achievements of a man the like of which will never be surpassed Delighted he's gone

Agree with this. Respect to Fergie, no matter what you think of him the PL will be a strange place without him.
