Mourinho is not a Utd style manager---- he is a cynical guy, means to an end, entertainment is low down on his list of priorities--one thing about all fergies teams, they go on the attack-- opposite of jose and his poisonous style--ever wondered why he don't stay long at clubs......

I have been doing a bit of research, perhaps you might be interested (probably not).

3.25 Southwell

The two short priced horses are well clear on official marks, with ratings in the 70s (76 and 78) and therefore they are the obvious place to start in this weak looking maiden. However, neither are by sires who are prolific on the fibresand, being by Motivator (no winners) and Intikhab (ten winners but strike rate of 9%), and are taking a large share of the market with their prices.

The one horse in the race who is by a sire with good Southwell form is Una Bela Cosa from the Mccabe yard, this filly is by Dubai Destination who has 27 winners on the surface with a strike rate of 19%. The horse is rated a paltry 52, some 16lbs and 14lbs worse than the market leaders but is more than likely going to be suited by the surface in comparison to her rivals. Add in the fact that he has already raced at the course and looked like he handles the ground, she looks a fair one in this race.

Not betting still, but I wouldn't say that she is a back number and if you can get double figures later, she could give you a run for the money.

notice that Conrad Allen has an 'unraced' animal in this----a very shrewd trainer--betting doesn't always reveal the truth either--he gets plenty in at monster odds....

I remember years ago when El Gran Senor was a red hot favourite for the Derby. He was sired by Northern Dancer. But, in Racehorses, I found another Northern Dancer son who looked better bred for the Derby and went for him (Secreto). What a battle that was but Secreto emerged the winner, just outstaying El Gran Senor.

Maybe there is another New Approach son who has a pedigree more suited to 12f and we will see something like that Secreto/El Gran Senor battle. It will be interesting to see how Hasheem runs today. By New Approach he looks to be more suited to 12f than Dawn Approach. Are there any others that fit the bill?

One of very few sires who have a Southwell win on his resume is Ransom O'War.

On ‘Oddschecker’ they are reporting that one of the most popular bets right now is very decent money for Ferguson to be crowned ‘Sports Personality of the Year’ and he’s as low as 2/1.

The next manager market is fluctuating more than the old weather at the minute. Moyes now odds-on in several places and Mourinho as big as 2/1 with some bookie chappies. Dear old ‘Arry Redknapp, Steve ‘Brucie’ Bruce and Fat Sam Allardyce all remain 66’s though!

Royal Flag is a half brother to Farrh, but is unraced. Genius Boy is half brother to Coquet but unraced (both are Godolphin so possibly in the Al Zarooni issue). Libertarian is in the Dante.

Interesting how many of his progeny that Godolphin are in ownership of.

going to do a mad L15

Captain Dunne 7/1 3 15 Chester-- hope ground stays dry--Easterby loves this race

Shadie Sadie 25/1-2 35 Kelso- handicap debut , up in trip, stable in top order.

Grivola 12/1 --3 25 Southwell -- Conrad Allen and martin Dwyer found a weak maiden

Mandeville 13/2 8 30 Newcstle-- Dods yard in superb form--first time out seems the time to catch them.

just my optimistic opinions, but thats what its about....good luck to all, whatever your choices.

Horse racing markets are so dull at the moment compared to the football ones which are going into an absolutely meltdown right now. I see, for instance, that Ladbrokes and William Hill now make Man City favourites for next terms Premier League after sustained support.

Looks all over in the next manager market though. Moyes now 1/4, Mourinho 4 and its 16/1 Bar the pair. So overjoyed as in my opinion Moyes will destroy them.

fergie will get mobbed at chester today...does anyone know if any of his horses are running now that would be very interesting and possible plot maybe??lol
I fancy BATTALION 3.50 haggas is flying at the mo and this horse was down to run at Newmarket and was withdrawn at the start on 'vets advice' and has a derby entry too 8/1 is massive and an ew bet for free imo. good luck if you play today ;)

He does have one running in joint ownership.

Moyes and Staunton are not big enough names for Old Trafford, whatever their respective merits. That job is as much about managing the superstar players, the management board / shareholders and the media, as it is about managing a football team.

On second thoughts, lively outsiders at 1000/1 are Jürgen Klinsmann and Mark Hughes. Now, there's a pair..................and good luck! :emoticon-0112-wonde

I have gone for a mad Super Yankee...

13:45 Chester - Blithe Spirit 8/1
17:00 Chester - Ambleside 7/2

14:35 Kelso - Welsh Bard 6/4
15:35 Kelso - Night In Milan 3/1
16:10 Kelso - Trend Is My Friend 13/8

They were all bigger last night (see earlier post) but didn't put my bet on till this morning doh!!

Also having a couple of quid eway on Buckland 14/1 and Ingleby Spirit 25/1 in the Cup.

Good luck

Cheers Nass.

I've a feeling we may not yet have seen the Derby winner this season. The ones I've highlighted look interesting as does Kingsbarns.

Morning all.
Moyes will replace Fergie @ Man.U imo, to be honest I,m more bothered who will replace Moyes??
Today's lucky 15.
Chester,1-45=Marilyn Marquessa.
" 2-15=Elik.
" 2-45=Olympiad.
" 3-15=Noble Storm.
Today's nap=Elik.
Good luck to all.

my concern with Buckland is that they are running the horse to avoid the penalty, often see trainers saying they are 'forced' to run--- when a horse carries about 8lb of ****, you only need to get rid and the penalty has gone--- colonic wash for horses ....

if I had to pick something in the Chester Cup I would go for Pipe's horse Investissement, who ran so well in an Ebor. Nasty little race though, must try and watch it on TV.

Did someone on here put Limegrove up lto? I can't remember but for some reason the name rings a bell. Seems to me on collateral form to be ahead of the front 3 in the betting in the first at Chester so seems great value at 10/1 top 3 paid.

14:45 Chester - Tominator

(2011 winner of Northumberland Plate and listed handicap winner at this track over 13f last September. Seems to act on any going, and has some stout breeding, especially on sire's side. Chester Cup always a difficult race to find the winner, so small punt at 11/1).

GL to everyone today! <ok>

just the draw to overcome, has been making the running in his last three races, but got the right man to adopt the come from behind at chester.....
