The most significant impact of Fergie's retirement is the fact that matches at Old Trafford will now be considerably shorter.

With SAF stepping down now but still being involved with the club he has probably known who his replacement will be for years and now is the time hes ready to take over. Ryan Giggs for manager maybe. One good thing for MUFC fans must be that any Manager in the world would love to take over there.

I find it hard to believe that the next manager hasn't already been sounded out in months before this.

Jose will go to Chelsea, he's made all the noises of going to Chelsea. However Moyes refusing to commit to Everton says to me he's known for a while he's going to United.

We will have planned for this for a long time ( SAF was meeting Pep in America earlier in the year before he signed for BM ) so I think Moyes in already nailed on for the job.

I heard on radio 5 this morning, that they may get a manager in for a short term, just to let things lie, and JM name was branded around, this was suppose to come from a UTD player.

Good shout. He'd definitely help prolong Giggs and Scholes' careers <ok>

Seriously though, 50 quid at 8/1 is looking very tempting for Klopp.

edit: I stand corrected, 16/1. Great odds.

    Looks like it's Moyes.

Wonder if the short term option of Heynkles (sp?) would have worked.

Hasn't he retired from Bayern because he's had enough at his age?

Not sure, just assumed he was willing to go because Bayern had to act quickly to get Pep for the long term.

Nah he was pushed out, and from what I can gather it certainly wasn't amicable, it was moved quickly because of the Chelsea/Pep rumour mill
