Moyes would do a good job, but I'm sure the powers that be would want the best possible person brought in and that would have to be the great one.

    Mourinho for me.

Sky were reporting Mourunhos alleged talks with Chelsea have stalled!!!!!
If SAF 'goes upstairs ' as they say, I think he'll still have a big say in the team, making a managers job difficult.
I think his announcement has something to do with the laws governing the New York stock exchange, sure one of you clever people will be able to clarify. :eek:k:

You are right LTF.......Manchester United have to inform the New York Stock Exchange by 2.30pm this afternoon of everything pertaining to the club/business ie financial information, sponsorship etc and the status/positions of senior management/personnel which includes Ferguson's position.

The parallels between ourselves and Man Utd are quite interesting as they have to inform the New York Stock Exchange of their situation and we'd improve our situation exchanging Pardew for a stock cube.

After the grief that Benitez has received from a section of the Chelsea fans I really do hope that he leaves the club at the end of the season. They don't deserve him at all.

Good luck to Fergie in his retirement; he's been simply the best manager that I have ever seen and I hope that he has a good retirement he certainly deserves it.

Moyes is my favourite. Fergie to stay as a director and I think Moyes would go to him for guidance.

Interesting news indeed. I still think it will be Moyes under the thumb of SAF, and I don't think Moyes will work out at ManU, he's too grumpy, but I could very well be wrong. I think Mourinho will go back to Chelsea for a few years, next season certainly looks more interesting now.

ManU without SAF will not be the same anymore. They won't be as ruthless anymore winning agianst the lower teams and decisions won't always go their way anymore either.

And have Moyes and Rooney made up over their tiff back in the day when Rooney left Everton?

I think they'll appoint someone from within the club who's worked alongside Ferguson and been equally instrumental in their recent successes......for me it's got to be Howard Webb.

I don't think Mourinho would like Fergie being in the shadows though they have great respect for each other.
Jurgen Klopp is getting a mention.

    David Moyes should take over.

They need a long term manager, and David Moyes is one of them.

Gets the best out of his players, organises a team well, and has proven to be consistent.

I agree with that. The vision of Moyes is much more realistic than that of Mourinho on our touchline. United need a manager who is good with player relations, nurturing talent and using a whole squad well. Moyes fits the bill and comes without controversy. United fans will have reservations about the lack of European experience Moyes has but we have it in abundance in our players and whilst the Germans look so good, maybe it's a good time for someone like Moyes to come in when there is less expectation of European success at United.

I also see Gary Neville being part of the set up, he could certainly offer us a lot.

One thing is for certain, United won't drop off. If our players have learned anything from Fergie it's that nobody is bigger than Man United, not even Fergie.

I think it will be Moyes.

Ole Gunnar Solksjaer and Neville could offer the set up something. It won't be as simple as just dropping a new boss in. They'll have been planning for years. Big challenge ahead though.

Who'd be daft enough to give us a stock cube for him?

Blimey. This is going to be mightily interesting. Everyone will look at Man U through new eyes now, the illusion of being unbeatable will be just tarnished a little bit. How many times have clubs turned up looking like they know they're beaten when playing Man U? It never happens to any other club. Plus there's a lot of conspiracy theory surrounding the favouritism at OT and the journo's continued silence. I daresay more than a few referees have breathed a collective sigh of relief.
