Not a Man U fan but totally shocked to hear that.

Sad day for your club and football in general.

The greatest manager in my time and I'm in my late twenties (34).

Wonder if there is substance in the Moyes rumours then?

A truly great football manager who re-invented your team so many times that the only job for him now in retirement is to re-invent the wheel; yes, he'll be able to do that.

You'll never replace him but Moyes or Mourinho will be the choices now. If you want continuity gor for "Big" David Moyes.

    Superb news.

To be honest, it's probably a big compliment to the guy that so many rival fans are delighted he's going.

Moyes and Mourinho's styles fits the squad best but I honestly think it's too late to get Jose and Moyes is a big gamble, I'm sure those in charge don't want to get into the hiring and firing every couple of years now. Christian Gross and Juande Ramos are top managers if you need any recommendations <whistle>

His biggest sadness in his career is that he NEVER managed to equal Bob Paisley's three European Cups. That's something he can never take away from us.

    From a Stoke fan...
I heard the rumours last night and there is one word to describe Sir Alex.
    LEGEND
I've have watched football for well over 50 years and he was "Simply the best" Good luck Sir Alex!

On a lighter note.. Do you want Tony Pulis and we'll take Jose. <laugh>

Congrats on that 20th title too!

The greatest manager of all time, it's a big, big loss to football. Wish him all the best, and a big thanks to creating and developing some of the best sides/players in the world <ok>

New manager to be announced in coming days possibly, According to London stock exchange the new manager can't be announced until he resigns from his current job. Mourinho, Moyes, Klopp are the front runners Moyes is favourite, just look out for future resignations!

A great manager, certainly one of the best that I have ever seen and I can only wish him well in his retirement.

I hope he has a long and happy retirement; he's deserved it.

Good luck for the following season; it will be tough to maintain your superiority which the lifelong fans from next door (who just became 'lifelong' two seasons ago) will be anticipating.
