Can definitely see this one happening! Premiership experience, technically good, adaptable, captain material? Curtis Davies £3m
I don't know what our budget will be but I'd be surprised to see us spend £3million on ONE player considering how our latest £3million player turned out. Of course we will need to spend but wouldn't we be likelier to get 3x £1million players?
I am not saying 3 million for Davies is a good deal for us but I do not see why 3 million for one player is to much. There are other factors such as salary, resale value, etc. Only looking at the transfer cost is not the way to go about it. I also would be surprised if we did not end up forking out that much for a player. 1 million pound players are most likely better suited for the championship, a decent PL player is just going to cost more than that.
I can't see it been anywhere near £3M, Sorry it's early but who was our last £3M player, you're talking about?
He's a good player and he sums his own position up quite fairly; nothing wrong with a bit of honest confidence! He will attract bids of £2-3M, but they will be structured and have performance related clauses (player and club); the real deciding factor in most deals will be player wages and bonuses. 3 x £1M players is the wrong approach; we have a decent squad, although a little light and we need to be adventurous when buying a PL quality spine - let battle commence.
The Braindead has it as £1.5m..... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2320949/Curtis-Davies-wanted-Hull-City.html
Hope not. Far too slow for the PL. Aluko for starters ran him ragged @ Birmingham. Turner would be better and cheaper.
