FT: Wigan 2-3 Swansea. That's us, barring an incredible win at the Emirates for Wigan next week, safe.
Apparently the script wasn't written for Wigan to on and win this. See..? Being overly negative doesn't give you any advantage or wisdom. It just means you live life disappointed.
And relax. My hands are firmly held up. I did not see anything from this game but a Wigan win. Thank you Swansea, or rather thank you Wigan's defenders. As I say, here's to boring 0-0 vs Sunderland this weekend.
Wigan don't deserve to have a Premier League Team...couldn't even sell out a crucial relegation game...looks like the "floater" might finally be flushed
Wigan isn't dead; even a loss to Arsenal and win against Villa could be enough for them to achieve safety. But that's pretty much our safety sorted; in addition to all of the other low-probability events taking place, back-to-back Wigan wins pushes us into an extremely comfortable position, even if we fail to get anything from the final two.
Have to say, for a team already on their holidays, Swansea really gave a good account of themselves. That's us safe now surely?
Well that was equally as exciting as a Saints win. We're not technically safe yet, but my nerves are mostly gone.
Taxi for Wigan. Although willing them to lose tonight would still like to see them survive on the last day at the expense of a north east team
I was running around the living room shouting at 3-2, most excited I have ever been watching a non-Saints game! 72 hours after they play a Cup Final they are going to have to drag their tired arses to the Emirates, a loss...most probably, a draw...at a push, a win...nah. Can we go back to discussing improbable, exotic and expensive Summer transfer targets now please?
Too scared to watch it...I really shouldn't support Saints, should I Thanks, Swansea Beat Sunderland and we are safe anyway...but this result really makes it all over bar the shouting. Wigan need 2 wins to pass us, so I shall be magnanimous and say they can relegate Newcastle, if they like.
