Last night saw 3 ex-SAFC players in the opposing squad in Whitehead, Jones and Sorensen. All three of these players got a better reception than most of our team did. I don't mind giving a warm applause for someone but we have 11 men out there whoi must think that the fans love the opposition and ex-players more than they do our own side.!! Whitehead got a lovely big round of applause as did Jones. Correct me if I'm wrong but, as much as these 2 were part of SAFC a while back, why are they not here now if the fans think so highly? Whitehead has been an arse every time he's played against us - could easily have been booked 4 times last night and also kicked out with Howard Webb refereeing a game and only got a yellow card against us - why does he get a round of applause. Sorensen I applauded - IO have a lot of time and respect for Tommy and always will have but the other 2 - no thanks.
i only applauded sorenson, it was a bit of a head sctratcher tbh, thought the applause for porterfields goal was a nice touch mind
Sorensen will be forever a hero. KJ I always liked, I was one of them Whitehead did great work for us to get back into the Premier League. All for me deserved a little applause, obviously Tommy more than the others.
All three deserved a round of applause. I was never a fan of Whitehead but no reason not to applaud. Kenwyne did very well here and even better now when you look back. Put it this way id much rather have had Jones upfront for us than Graham. Sorensen was great here and always has good words to say about us
Agree with every word. Will always love Tommy, remember bumping into him in Durham one time with his missus, and feeling a right twat for staring at her awe-struck. He seemed amused by it to be fair to the lad, haha.
Sorensen and Whitehead got my appause. Jones didn't. Because during his last months with us didn't try a jot, unforgivable. I see Stoke are trying to get shot now same as us and Southampton
I thought the applause and cheers for our eleven when they were announced when on the pitch was immense. Far greater than the sporting applause for our former players. I guess things sound different in different parts of the stadium.
Only polite to applaud former players. Nothing against these three. If you come on to warm applause from the opposition are you more likely to play well or if you come on and get dogs abuse? I know which would make me try harder.
