We will all be eternally grateful for what he has done for the city and the club, however when it comes to the city council is it just me that thinks he sounds like he's spat his dummy out? I agree entirely with him on the underlying reasons for owning the KC, however IMO he is just coming across in the media like a spoilt kid, something I imagine would be quickly picked up on in the media spotlight which will be next season. Certainly if I was a neutral I would think he sounds like a right plonker. Nothing against him AT ALL, I just think he might need wrapping up in a little more PR, before he becomes a joke.
No he sounds to me like he's sticking by his principles, and won't deal with liars who have hidden agendas. The joke is the HCC and they should not be allowed to benefit from this achievement at all. Good on him.
Fully agree with Allam. This has nothing to do with the HCC. We had the parade and 'balcony show' as a home coming from Wembley. City players had their 'balcony show' at the KC on Saturday and Beverley Racecourse yesterday. Why have a Civic Dinner? Let the council have their annual 'pie, peas and chips' supper with the Fairground people. They've always been content with that before now.
That won't last... http://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/story-18913799-detail/story.html?#axzz2SbAoaoTL
It's funny OLM I was on Burnsy a little bit after that and then soon after read the article in The Times as part of another radio programme over in Lincoln. I thought exactly the same as you. The angle over here however, was 'how good will this be for Hull etc blah blah blah' but the sub text was really attempting to see the Allams as the sort of foreign owners that run other clubs. I quickly disavowed them of that notion.
I 100% agree with every word of this. Plus, whatever happened to his strongly worded statement about NEVER mentioning the KC issue again? Wasnt it something like (and Im paraphrasing) "the council has made it's decision, i dont agree with it but that's it. That was their one chance for me to give something back to the city and provide a long-lasting legacy and you will never hear me refer to this again"? 6 months is hardly 'never' is it....?
It was put on the back burner, it was never seriously going to be dropped completely, Assem's just waiting for others to be in charge of the council.
Papa really needs to address the PR situation here. The council are winning imo simply because Papa is a foreign football owner so he's perceived as looney. What are the lies and hidden agendas he's talking about? If he's going to say something so controversial he needs to explain it.
Well he shouldnt have said 'never' then should he? First rule of statements like that, always keep it open ended with the possibility, however slim, of reconciliation. All he's done here is assist the council in discrediting him and his rhetoric.
The PR issue has been the Allams problem from day one. Pappa calls all the shots whilst his son seemingly stays supportive in the background. AP was shocked by the stance of pppa and gave it a wide berth. I sthis gut Thompson up to the job or is he just prepared to go with the flow rather than advise the Allams? Time well overdue for an intermediary to sort out this mess before it gets out of hand.

They could hire a successful PR professional with 15 years experience of blue chip compnaies if they decided to finally pay a decent ****ing wage It really is a serious issue what they pay non-playing staff - many other Prem clubs have comms people on 6 figure salaries and City's are on minimum wage. And then people wonder why issues like this arise?
And so it begins; Brady hits back at Allam KC criticism Tuesday, May 07, 2013Hull Daily MailFollow HULL City Council leader Steve Brady has today responded to criticism of the authority by Tigers owner Assem Allam. Dr Allam was quoted in a national newspaper criticising the council in an ongoing dispute over the ownership of the KC Stadium. Criticism: Hull City Council leader Steve Brady, left, and Hull City owner Assem Allam. But Councillor Brady hit back: “I really do not want to prolong this argument over who said what about the KC Stadium, however I do take exception to some of the statements made by Dr Allam about the council in one of today’s national newspapers. “I have said to the club that I stick by what I have said before on this. “If an offer comes in for the KC Stadium then I will put it to a referendum and see what the people of Hull have to say about it. “Everyone is entitled to an opinion on this. “To be absolutely clear – there has never been any offer on the table for the KC Stadium. Until there is, we are where we are.” Read more: http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Brad...tory-18913799-detail/story.html#ixzz2SbdLOG2B
Its already out of hand due to the behaviour of Geraghty and the Lord Mayor who one week before promotion told the team they had let the city down. It is clearly the council dinosaurs that need to build bridges with Premier League Hull City. Who votes for these lunatics anyway?
Check this comment out "Me & my son would like to buy the KC, I have as much right as allam to be able to purchase it, We have no capital but we too would like it for nothing & then we can mortgage to the bank & invest the money in developing it & the surrounding area then when the money starts rolling in I could maybe give the council a nominal fee for their generosity, I know we are not as well known as the allams but if I bung all the regions sports organisations a little sweetener then we will become popular I'm sure, we do have a little bit of history buying the odd business in the area but we have usually break it up & sold the good assets & then off loaded the Rest & the workforce for a pittance, Not the best portfolio but the local papers don't want to write about those kind of things so we should be ok with that one.â
Geraghty and Brown's comments are well documented - I went to Spain straight after the Barnsley game and returned early Sat morning for the Cardiff game and to hear these shameful comments by Cllr Brown on my return beggars belief. The good residents of OPE (mostly eggchasers I would guess) unfortunately vote in that ****er Geraghty - he will be loving the confrontation - he fooking thrives on it and will be poisoning other Cllrs minds on a daily basis if I'm not very much mistaken..
