What we thinking, 10+ seconds slower than last years pole time assuming track is wet
5-10 seconds slower if its damp?

Well Malaysia quali ended up about 13 seconds slower than last years' with a wet but quickly drying track. If it's truly wet, I'd say about 15 seconds off last year (Barcelona doesn't dry as quickly). But this is a much shorter track than Malaysia so maybe only 12-13 seconds off. However this site says that Saturday and Sunday won't be wet at all: http://www.myweather2.com/Motor-Racing/Spain/Catalunya-Circuit.aspx?sday=0&eday=7

    Barcelona stats:

The winner has come from pole in the last 12 years
All winners in the past 22 years have come from the front row with Schumi brilliant wet win in 96 being the exception >>> started P3

    Quali is important here then...

Didn't Webber have pole in 2011 but Vettel won?

True.. But, they weren't using the ever disintegrating Pirelli's!
They bringing the Hard and Mediums to the race? Which according to Pirelli themselves are like running the Medium and Softs of last year? Or will they have introduced the "tougher" Hard by Spain?

I think the new hards are much like the 2012 hards from this GP. I think the hards was the preferred tyre at the 2012 Spanish GP?

Beeb's got the weather down as being dry/cloudy but on the mild side... No rain..
Gonna go with a dry quali time with Hamilton on tops, he's been pretty quick here last couple of years, the car is great over one lap and at those temps I don't think they'll be over heating the tyres (well, for the one lap any way).

Yeah I haven't adjusted my time for rain yet. So still a mid 1.21 with Vettel.

I can see Lewis getting pole but the car lacking in the race. I'm still tempted to go for Alonso at this stage.

Tombazis says we will have new "bodywork, floor and wings." Autosprint say Ferrari will have new exhausts.

    Forza Ferrari!

    Gone for Alonso...
Its his home race, he always goes well here, the car is much better than last year and if the new bits work then he'll be even stronger in the race..

New front and rear wing, plus a new exhaust (Or updated exhaust) according to reports for Mercedes. Also new Livery, more silver and less grey.

If that helps maintain their one lap pace as well as giving them better tyre management during the race, then watch out for the Silver Arrows too!

Well, I have gone for Alonso. Optimistic he who voted for Jenson but would be a nice turnaround in the performance of the car. Kimi has a chance I think as does vettel but in the end I favoured Alonso and he deserves some success now.

I've just two things to say here, BLS:

1: This year could be different.
2: '1' is most likely if Vettel does not qualify on pole.
