This man irritates me. Not to the extent of Claridge of course. Was talking with one of my work colleagues today ( a gooner unfortunately ) and we both agreed how crappy he is on the BBC. How many reasonably good pundits have jumped ship from Auntie? Pugatch? Dixon? Not looking forward to next seasons drivel on the League show. ( not cancelled apparently ) Anyway wandering off the point. Garth is rubbish.
I was going to post that at least he wasnt Claridge. Hes a stuttering, stumbling fool who can barely put a coherent sentence together.
Have some rep flyer.( That's for calling him a " stuttering stumbling fool !) chuckled quietly to myself..
This shouldn't really be an OT thread since he's a football pundit by trade but it makes me chuckle because I never quite know what topic Garth Crooks is on!
WHY is he employed by the BBC? Apart from their over-the-top PC and diversity-driven make-up he has almost become a parody of himself, always trying too hard to sound like he's knowledgeable. As Gimme succinctly puts it - He's an irritating c*nt...
Thanks to the wonders of the modern world, we can watch the footie in these programs and either fast forward the drivel uttered by Crooks and Claridge or, if you've not recorded the program and are watching live, hit the mute button! I think Crooks is more personable than Claridge for what it is worth.
He always reminds me of a kids presenter who would appear on "Playschool" or "Playaway" with Floella Benjamin, Brian Cant and Derek Griffiths. "The Wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and round. The Wheels on the bus go round and round, down Wembley Way." "Now boys and girls, can you see the ball? I can see the ball. Can you see the line? I can see the line. Look, the ball is over the line. Can you see that boys and girls? Silly Mr Referee couldn't see it, now could he. Bad Mr referee, bad Mr Referee. Even Big Ted saw that the ball was over the line!
He always seems to me to be on another planet whenever the camera cuts to him. He struggles to articulate even the most basic aspects of the game he is watching.
