Quite likely. But more even than needing the points for survival, I want to see them park the bus lazily and get stuffed by four or five. Been forced to watch too many Stoke games, all of which seem to be beyond dire...with the sole exception of our game against them, naturally.
And thus it will be totally our fault if the two of them combine to send us down over the next fortnight. No-one but yourself to blame if those two can both beat you.
I kind of hope Wigan win their game in hand tomorrow. Would put us in a little bit of danger but look at all the other teams that would be too!
Perfect result tonight.... 1) The 3rd point was wasted. 2) The draw means that if we beat Sunderland then Stoke, we are guaranteed to finish above both sides. 3) Stoke almost certainly on their holidays when we play them. 4) Sunderland next without: Gardner (Susp), & possibly Larsson (Inj?) in addition to the three we already knew were out... Fletcher (Inj), Cattermole (Inj), Sessegnon (Susp). 5) Sunderland played an hour with 10 men. That's got to tire the few that are still standing a bit more than if they'd had 11. Happy days! ;-) Lat
I'll take that result very happily tonight. As Fran says, it's all in our hands now, win on Saturday and it's done and dusted!
If Wigan lose to Swansea tonight, I will believe in our destiny. If they win, I know it's going to be the usual Saints last match scenario. However, I do believe we will get a win out of the last 2 games.
Wigan don't win tonight they need to get a result from Arsenal for us to go down (a million threads about whether we can lose 10-0 to Stoke notwithstanding). Swansea available at a pretty surprising 4/1 tonight.
If results were that easy to predict, we'd all be in the Seychelles now. After all who would have thought we'd lose to QPR.
That's what I thought, they still let in two bad goals to WBA reserves. But any result for Swansea means we need snookers to go down.
Wish it worked like that. I remember the spanking Brighton gave us last season when they had half their team obliterated by cards and injuries. Just means that Sunderland will be more receptive to a Di Canio hype talk, and hungrier. As will their fans be in better voice. And Stoke are the ultimate spoilers. Not saying we can't win - but it most definitely won't be easy, and I would be surprised if we got more than a point from each, unfortunately.
For one night only Swansea have to be the best supported club in England! Twitter is awash with fans from various clubs wishing them well.
