Pulis said it was a hard earned point and was happy with the point Did he think he was managing Sunderland for a minute or 2? If I was a Stoke fan I'd be furious with him, to be 1 goal and 1 man up and not be bitterly dissappointed with drawing (and being, in some ways, lucky to get that) shows a complete lack of ambition.
Stoke fan here... Just replace ambition with BRAIN... what a feckin tool the guy is. Just heard him say on local radio.. quote " Sunderland we're fantastic because the had TEN men" Forgot to mention that WE had an extra player the ****wit excuse of a human being. I would be ripping out player's head off right now but that's Clueliss all over. Play's NOT to lose even against TEN MEN.. the sooner he goes 99.9 per cent of our board will be happy chappies. Good luck from now on in.
I didn't see Stoke to keen to make the extra man count tbh. They seemed to be quite happy to take a point. We did have a good 20 min spell in that 2nd half when we equalised but Stoke were not really making any attacking moves? I am happy with a point given where we were after 30 mins but hugely disappointed not o have won a game we simply had to win. Now we are under massive pressure to win on Sunday.
Stoke set up NOT to get beat from the first whistle, the goal they got was a lucky goal and totally unexpected and i got the feeling that they would have settled for 0-0 all day. Even with the extra man they never pushed or probed they continued to pump the ball long but offered no support to the forwards. Probably just as well cos they walked through us with ease first half. Second half and with only ten men, we should have won that match.
Remember the Norwich game in March ? Pulis did exactly the same as MON did back then. Good point for us in the end , could have been more. Pulis has 2 games left as Stoke manager. Good riddance from me.
According to all reports they were all over us in the first half - they only had one shot though that I saw so blatantly weren't that big on winning the game. Johnson is finally showing us what we paid £12m for. He was awesome last night (as were N'Diaye and Rose) - I also thought the ref was great - not arguiing Gardner's red but the challenge by Cameron Jerome on Danny Rose was high, late and terrible - far worse than Sessegnon's red card last week - was it the fact that Rose didn't roll about as if he'd been shot (like Charlie Adam did?) - he never even got spoken to - same in the second half when N'Zonzi, already on a yellow, tripped Danny Rose - ref played advantage and should've booked him after the fact but no - and how the **** Whitehead played 90 minutes I'll never know!! Great effort from the lads last night. SHowed some real fight and passion - this season we have both scored and conceded less goals from corners than any other side - yet last night we did both!!
Norwich were down to 10 men, but were drawing the game - so all they had to do was shut up shop to get the point. It is often hard to break down teams who are a man down, unless you are already winning. Last night we were not only were down to 10 men, but had to score and not concede in order to get anything from the game. We couldnt just put 10 men behind the ball and kill off the game. What got me with stoke last night is not that they couldnt break us down but they didnt even try.
An extra man is only going to count if you play the ball on the ground. Stoke posed a threat from set plays as they always have done, but through the middle of the park where they could have made it count, it looked like Sunderland had the extra man if anything.
