It's all very nicely balanced. All 3 of us play teams with their Premiership survival to play for. Anything could happen, i.e. Wigan could go Barcelona-mode on us and trounce us at home. Benteke could demolish Chelsea and really put himself on the market for the summer. And Sunderland aren't safe either, they could give Spurs a scare. There are still plenty more twists, I don't think Chelsea are comfortable yet. Everton have always given Chelsea a good game and although they're out of the top 4 running, they're still driven to finish above their noisy neighbours. This is why the Premier League is considered the best in the world. Although United have breezed the title, the rest of us are so even, it's all about who can hold their nerve and maintain their focus now.
I think anything can happen, although after that result today Chelsea are clear favourites for 3rd spot. For now.
At beat we need 2 wins and 3rd is guaranteed. Everton can't realistically finish any higher or lower than 6th. How motivated are they really going to be?
This made me laugh... See what Koscielny did to RVP. https://twitter.com/OsmanZtheGooner/status/331115095943942146/photo/1
please log in to view this image Somebody must have done that repeatedly to Phil Jones over the years . . would explain a thing or two
they were motivated enough to spoil UTD title chances last season when had basically nothing to play for and were celebrating like wining the league with every goal.. Moyes and everton take everything as a challenge, will not be that assured if i was you
Mourinho: "After the elimination to Dortmund, I have not decided to resign. I have planned to continue." (Marca tv)
Now that would be funny, after seeing all those Chelsea fans getting wet at the prospect of him re-joining them.
Wigan vs Swansea tonight, we could do with Wigan dropping some points tonight. Slows them down a little and gives Newcastle the chance to secure a place in the PL, before we face them.
Disagree. You need Wigan to win. If Wigan win tonight their fate is in their own hands irrespective of what they do at the Emirates. 3 days after the FA Cup final with survival guaranteed with a win over Villa at home then you never know, they might not go all out. If Wigan don't win tonight they will throw everything at Arsenal next Wednesday.
It's on Tuesday, and if they do indeed throw everything at us, then I can easily see us picking them off on the break. I fancy our defence to keep them out.
Throwing everything at us will do me just fine, most teams in the lower half come to the emirates and sit back and hit us on the break. Wigan going all guns blazing will leave plenty of space for walcot, plus they have looked so open at the back in the last few games, think it will suit us to have them attacking us.
Exactly, also looking at our defence at the moment, I am more than confident that we could handle the attacking threats of Wigan.
No Beausejour or Figueroa for Wigan against us next week. There's also the possibility that they might pick up more injuries today or on the weekend.
