Queens Park Rangers target Peterborough striker? By Liam Apicella, Staff Reporter Monday, May 6, 2013 at 13:13 UK Queens Park Rangers have reportedly identified Dwight Gayle as one of the players to lead their quest to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking next season. Despite the fact that Peterborough United were relegated to League One, 22-year-old Gayle is thought to have impressed a number of clubs with his 13-goal contribution. One of those teams is QPR, whose manager Harry Redknapp watched Gayle in action at the weekend, according to the Fulham Chronicle. The report went on to claim that the R's will have to pay more than the £500,000 that Gayle cost Peterborough in November last year from Dagenham & Redbridge. http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/footbal...ws/qpr-target-peterborough-striker_83062.html
He is young, has scored goals albeit at lower leagues and won't cost the earth. Not much to complain about given the general opinion on this board.
If I read the article correctly, he scored more goals for a relegated Championship side between November and the end of the season than any player did for either of the top 2 sides over the course of the whole season.
Hello QPR! Posh fan here. Couple of bits of news here: 1) Our chairman says Dwight Gayle will be staying at Posh 2) He is a fuc*ing ninja on the pitch, he can run forever and poach up for tap in's and will create chances from anywhere 3) You won't get him but if you do he will be around £3m overall Sorry for your relegation, I was looking forward to go to Loftus Road (best stadium) but we got relegated too
Don't worry, we'll pay over the odds and then turn him to crap. It's a little trick we play on ourselves.
We know nothing about him. Can't be just saying, lets but him and him and him just cause he's young. Rhodes is a must.
Hmmmmmm. Anyone remember the new Sir Les, Troy Hewett? gems like Les do not come any more. Good young players are snapped up by the the 'trawlers' at 14 and 15 if not before. Gale, Rhodes and Austin are playing where they are for a reason. I hate to say it but English football is international now. If we can keep Remy until Christmas i think he will stay for the duration because he will be in the limelight by scoring goals. he wont be doing that at Arsenal sitting on the bench but unfortunately money talks.
I'm as clueless as other here, maybe a prospect, it's what we pay the scouts for, so lets hope a step in the right direction.
Looks like he's going to the Premier League and Palace. Shame as I think he would have been a very good signing for us. http://www.teamtalk.com/news/2483/8796020/Palace-close-in-on-Gayle-deal
